MustangGirlRN 0 Posted October 29, 2008 Wow, I'm scheduled to have surgery on November 7th and I had never even thought about monthly bloating and how it will affect my band. I bloat a lot during PMS week, I hope I'm allowed to stay on my maxzide after the surgery to combat this. I'm glad I found this thread so I won't be surprised when this happens. msmelc 3 Posted October 30, 2008 well i think i have always had the swelling problem, but i was too.. eeeehhh... FLUFFY shall we say, to realize that i was retaining fluids! but now tht my hands & feet & Stomach are of "somewhat normal" size... i SEE the swelling!!! i take a waterpill/Lasix during that time... just make sure you take some potassium... i.e. bananas, orange juice, meats, spinich... etc... so that you arent depleating your body... good luck!!! OctoberDay 0 Posted June 9, 2009 I am so glad I found this. I am super tight and about to start. Has anyone ever found that birth control pills help to relieve some of the pms symptoms?
Cerrin 3 Posted June 9, 2009 I am on birth control the only thing I can tell it helps with is letting me know WHY I cant eat anything those 2 days before I start. lol
OctoberDay 0 Posted June 9, 2009 How do Water pills work. Are they dangerous? I am really struggling with the tightness. My band is fine one day and then super tight the next. Whether it is allergies or swelling because of my TOM, I'm not sure. But I'm really starting to kick my weight loss into gear - probably because I'm not eating much of anything and I don't want to unfill and lose ground. I haven't eaten solid food since Friday and it's Tuesday. I'm working on some yogurt right now and coffee seems to be working ok. But would eventually like to eat something.
Cerrin 3 Posted June 9, 2009 I know that if I am stressed out I cant eat. If I am in a rush and get that intense have to eat NOW kind of thing I will get stuck. So I have to be aware of slowing down and relaxing when meal time comes along or I will not be able to eat. For me it is a mind game. I WANT to eat the whole portion I put on my plate...but I cant...or better saying I can...If I take 2 hours to eat it. But we all know that is not how it is suposed to work. I am trying to learn (still) not to shovel food in...One bite, wait to see if it will go down, Then have another bite, repeat process. I just get impatient with eatting. If you PB give it a day on liquids and then try something you KNOW has worked in the past...for me it is tacos THEN I know I can eat again...just slower and not as much. OctoberDay 0 Posted June 9, 2009 I also think I create a vicious cycle of pb-ing and then trying to eat again too soon after pb-ing. I think I'm not being patient enough. I'm not even really that hungry. But I get stressed about not being able to eat. I shouldn't do that. Isn't that what I signed up for!?! I am not a good fill person. I stayed at 6.5 for a very long time and plateued. Then I started gaining again and went in for a fill and getting myself used to this fill is really hard on me. But I've lost about 15-20 lbs with this last fill. It works, but it has been really hard. I think the whole portion thing is a myth. Is 3-4 bites truly a portion? Sorry to vent, but no one really knows what I'm going through and no one understands so this is the only way I can really let it go.
Cerrin 3 Posted June 9, 2009 I also have a hard time with the mental part of it..To me 3-4 bites is not a portion. It is a portion of what I used to shovel in my mouth. lol What I really want is to find someone that is successful with the band that will go eat with me. So I can see what thay do.
