Hi!

I just got banded on Wednesday and everything seems to be going ok as for as recovering. But, I'm coughing up a little blood this evening and was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and should I be alarmed at all? Thanks for any advice:huh2:

I'm no doctor, but I don't think that is normal. I would have that checked right away! Good Luck.

I was banded on 6/10 and I had that happen also. If it is not much and does not continue I would not worry about it. Also is it bright red or brownish? Bright red would make me head for the nearest ER.

I would not wait, just get yourself to a dr asap. Whether it's happened to someone else or not does not mean that what is happening to you is okay. I wouldn't risk it. Good luck and keep us posted.

Did your doctor give you a 24-hour number to call him? My surgeon has a number to call for after-hours emergencies . . . if you don't have that, then I would go to the nearest ER.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
