I hope you are doing well, I'm in Justin, Tex. I had my lap band in Feb. 08. I have lost over 70 pounds and would love to be a buddy/mentor whatever. We can encourage and continue motivate each other.

Big Baby!!! I'm in Grand Prairie. I haven't been banded yet but my date is scheduled for sept 15th. i would love to pair up with you...I can give motivation to keep going and you can give me 'been-there-did-this' advice.

We can do lunch (soup, slim-fast), work out (24 hour fitness membership). Let me know if you are interested!

Im not banded long enough to be mentoring anyone, but wanted to say hellow from another Dallas person.

Hi Flowers!! You don't have to be banded a long time to be a mentor...Just going through the experience is enough for me. Also BB wanted someone to help her over the hump and motivate!! I think we can all do that!

Hi all, Im only planning on walking around the block here, approx 1.5 miles, I did maybe a mile last night, getting back to it.

I didnt want to walk at all, but made myself get out and do it. Id been grazing all night and thought I needed some exercise. (SF stuff, but still nothing wrong with my appetite at this point).

Yep, we can all give each other a kick in the butt.

Justin is a small town up north of FortWorth, close to the Texas Motor Speedway. it sounds like we have a lot of DFW bandsters. I currently workout 3x a week, w/spouse . We usually do 30 min of cardio, and then we rotate between upper and lower body. But, let me tell you girlfriend I can use all the motivation I can get. I'm scheduled for a fill next week and not really looking forward to it because it usually takes me awhile to adjust. So, lets stay in touch....

This is GREAT!!! I am currently on vaca until July 28th. How about a dinner date? Maybe we can split some dishes...

maybe we shouldn't meet over food---how about a long walk--either way--I'm in...let me know

What's better a weekday or weekend?

Luluc, looks like you are a veteran bandster. What could you tell us that you found to make your weight loss journey more successful? I think we can all appreciate any help and good advice.

Mommie of 4, I was banded Feb. 18 2008. I have lost over 70 pounds. My goal is still undetermined because I have found that the scales and the size of clothing varies. I have gone from an 18/20 to 12/14. Now, let me tell you that size has been interesting because I tried on a size ten about two weeks ago and got in it, but for me I feel I'm not ready until it hangs on or falls off.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
