SMOTGLIA 0 Posted July 12, 2008 Hi everyone! Bear with me, I'm new... I'm Tracy, I'm 26. Just started looking into the process, then jumped right on-board. I've got three months of supervised diet as per my insurance company, and I'm looking at an early October surgery date... as long as I can lose the 5% my doctor requires! I'm really really struggling with finding some protein-rich foods, that are low on carbs, to get that weight off.... any suggestions?
Hollins2003 0 Posted July 12, 2008 Hi! and Welcome! My surgeon required that I lose 10% of my weight before surgery. I found the quickest way to do this was through a low carb/high Protein diet. I followed Atkins and in one month I lost the 20 pounds required. I ate things like bacon and eggs for Breakfast, salads (with turkey or ham) for lunch. and a dinner of a protein (fish, chicken, steak) plus veggies for dinner. I would suggest either reading the Atkins or South Beach book and following that. Both books lay everything out for you. Good look on your journey.

NANAbanded 0 Posted July 12, 2008 I like the Southbeach Frozen Meals. For instantance:1 SB pizza has 31g Protein, 9 g Fiber, 350 cal. :1 SB Caprese chicken dinner 30g Protein, 3g fib., 240 cal. I've entered Southbeach into my food journal on www.calorie-count.com. which rates the foods for nutrition value and all southbeach foods get a high score. I know you can get tired of certain foods...but maybe you can do this for a short time. good luck.
