Moving to Melbourne- fill doctor?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I am moving to Melbourne to live in the next few weeks and was wondering if you could give me some ideas on who your doctors are, what they are like, where they are and prices for the fill.

Dr Watson mentioned The Avenues and Prof O'Brien I think it was.... the only thing is that he thinks that Prof O'brien gives fills without local anaesthetic!!! ouch!

I will be living in Hawthorn and would prefer someone that is either close by or easy to get to on public transport.

any info would be appreciated (plus feel free to volunteer to finish my packing - ugh!)

thanks all

Melanie

Hi Mel, I go to the Avenue and I can vouch for at least one other surgeon who doesn't use a local, but to be honest, even though I have had issues with my port, I have never felt pain from the needle, only what they ended up hitting on the other side. (back of the port because it flipped)

Welcome to Melbourne btw... if you want to grab a coffee don't hesitate to send a message

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
