I haven't taken the step of Banding yet but after seeing so many of you are in the medical field and have seemingly have done good makes me more comfortable about doing this.

As far as what I do, I am a stay at home domestic engineer. I love travel, and love using my computer. My husband & I live in N.Ind by Lake Mich. We love to go camping and canoeing (in seperate canoes though. Husbands and wives never should be in the same canoe...)

God Bless you all for the wonderful post and encouragement.

I am an attorney. Had the banding procedure on 7/1/05. Only had one fill, but I wonder if it leaked out because I don't notice any more restriction that I had before the fill.

I just joined this site today.

I'm an RN BSN, and work part time as a charge nurse on a med surg/cardiac telemetry floor. I'm mom to 3, one married, one a freshman in college, and one in 4th grade. I also have a pretty awesome son in law and a beautiful 9 month old grandson. My dh has all of the microsoft specialist certifications, and works for our regional power plant, and we both work on computers for family and friends in our spare time. My career wish is to work in some way with the youth in our community, maybe when my kids are grown and I dont need as big a salary...

Before I had children I was a special events and meeting planner. After I had my first child I happily became a stay at home mom. After my second was born I started teaching Water aerobics at a physical therapy place (5 classes/hours per week). I love doing that, I actually get paid (not much) to exercise! I also watch a couple of my friends kids after school. All in all, I have it pretty easy.

I'm a part-time film maker and full-time web designer and an ever so slight part-time musician. It's so hard to get a break in the film industry these days. Look for me at Sundance this year, though! We have a film called "The Light."

I am a 911 Communications Specialist which is a fancy title for a 911 Emergency Medical Dispatcher. I've been doing it for 7 years now. I work for a large Communications Center that dispatches for 9 Fire Departments across 3 counties near Kansas City, Missouri. I started when I was 17 y/o. I was also an Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter for 5 years. I love my job although it is not an easy one - lots of people can't hand it and end up burned out quickly, but I had a calling for it and here I am! I've been working night shifts for 7 years now also so I cruise these forums all night long during slow times at work. I am looking to move to a day shift when the opportunity presents itself. I work long 12 hour shifts. 911 call - gotta go!

I'm an IT consultant. Computers and obesity seem to go hand-in-hand, sometimes.

Still, it could be worse, I could work for a chocolate factory, or maybe I could be a professional pizza Taster.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
