Okay, just had to post my 2 cents. :) You mentioned that you were a stay-at-home Mom & wanted to move on with your career...

Dr. Phil says that stay-at-home Mom's work the same amount of hrs. as if you had 2 full-time jobs!! You are indeed WORKING!!!

By the way, I am a proud stay-at-home Mom (3 kids!!) & I also teach piano lessons out of my home. (25 students!) I was banded 6 weeks ago & have lost 20 lbs!! YEAH!! 88 more to go!

Boy, there's a bunch of fat nurses. I'm one too. Takes one to know one. Looks like we're too busy caring for others instead of taking care of ourselves. I'm glad all of us are finally taking charge of our own health.

I'm a stay at home mum/student. I'm doing a Bachelor of Primary Education - which is grade school teaching to you guys - at the ripe old age of 38! I'll be 41 when I finished, my youngest will be starting school and I'll be starting a whole new career!

For over 15 years now, I've been the Executive Director of a non-profit organization providing services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. I hope to retire in 6-8 years.

My husband and I raised our three children (currently in their 20's and 30's) and recently started the process over again as we are helping raise our great-grand-daughter who is 5 months old and living with us! It's awesome...she is a joy!

I'm a Systems Engineer for a large Aerospace Corporation. They love to serve food here 24/7 so I've gained 60 of the pounds I need to lose just in the last three years I've been here. May end up quitting my job just to lose weight seeing how I have no will power at all.

I am a marine technician aboard an oceanographic research vessel so I am out to sea most of the year. I would love to be a stay at home mom but I have not found the guy to help me make a baby yet. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
