Caren 0 Posted May 26, 2005 Incredible...what a great diverse group of people that connect on a personal level through technology. I've enjoyed reading about everyone else's jobs. I'm an RN and have been for many years. I've been in the medical field for 27 years and an RN for 21 years. I'm currently the Director of Patient Care Services at a large hospital here. I've noticed many people have gone back to school or are thinking about it. I started back a few years ago to get my BS after being out of school for 20 over 15 years and it was very intimidating, but enjoyed it so much that I went ahead and got my Masters also in Health Services Administration. Enjoy life...while we all "get skinny" together!

Charlie 0 Posted May 30, 2005 Good for you - Surgery was unbelievably easy - I was up and about in three hours - and went shopping the next day - I had mine done on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday. Yes, I did take pain medication but not as much as I thought I'd need. My first "meal" was mashed potatoes on Christmas. Wonderful. The weight comes off slowly but it does come off. I'm very impatient with that but also need to exercise more. I just want you to know the best is to come and encourage you to continue your dream.
tambonzjo 7 Posted May 30, 2005 I love reading about everyone's different jobs! I am an office manager for a dermatologist here in the Dallas-Ft Worth area during the day. At night I help my disabled mom with anything she wants. I also live with her so it makes it easier. Divorced for six years now from an abusive husband and looking for Mr. Right again. Took me five years to realize it wasn't me that screwed the marriage up, it was him. Unfortunately, he found someone to take my place right after I left....3 weeks to be exact. Poor Barb (new wife)!! Charlie 0 Posted June 1, 2005 I manage a Cardiology group in Austin. I have 9 Dr.'s and 25 employees - not including our nuclear and CT department. Way too busy and way too stressed. I am divorced (was married for 23 yrs and took a long time to leave a harmful situation), lost my Mother and son within three months of each other and now live with my daughter and family - their idea - but it turned out to be a good one. Needed to have positive reinforcement and something to look forward to and decided to explore banding - haven't lost as much as I need to and still use food as a crutch. BUT - I continue to try.... mousecrazy 2 Posted June 28, 2005 I teach English in an alternative high school; this is the kind of school that offers a diploma program, not a discipline alternative school. I LOVE my work, and the kids that make it so great! I will begin my 18th year of teaching in the fall, well, August, actually. I am betting on my kids to be my ultimate supporters. I am married and have a 7 year old daughter who will start 3rd grade next fall. My family is totally behind me on this, too!
