Hi gang. I realize that I'm probably jumping the gun here a bit and that I really only need someone to tell me to take a deep breath and chill out! Here's my story (sorry it's so long).

Got pregnant through IVF in May 2004. All was well until October 2004 when I suffered an incomplete cervix. My son was born at 22 weeks and died very soon after birth. We did another embryo transfer (from the same lot as our Declan) in spring of 2005, but no luck. So, we waited. I had my band surgery in May 2007 and, after losing and losing and losing, decided to do another transfer. We still had two embryos cryopreserved from Declan's lot, so we transferred them this past Sunday. The dr. was very pleased with the quality of the embryos and has high hopes that we'll get PG from this transfer.

My question is this (mostly for anyone who has gotten PG from IVF transfers). Yesterday (Thursday), I was queasy all day. I've been sleeping a lot and am noticing that I'm slightly sensitive to smells. Does anyone think it's remotely possible that my hormones have started acting crazy at this early stage of the game? The dr. states that embryos generally implant 48 - 96 hours after transfer, so if they did implant, it seems to me that it could be a good sign.

Or, is it in my head???

Thanks.

Steph

Well honey I can tell you that I knew I was pregnant right away when I went through IUI... It so happens that I am now carring twins... so good luck! Do you feel different than last time?

I was a lot like you with my IVF, however I can't tell you how much of it might be real and how much in your head. But one thing to think about is that if it has implanted your body will be reacting to it, and you could be sensitive to it. I don't want to get your hopes up, I have been there. Good news I was pregnant and I knew it right away no matter what the Dr says! Good luck to you!

Congrats on the twins. I am a compulsive tester, so of course, I tested last Tuesday night. And, no shock, it was negative. So, it was grounding to say the least! I have been queasy for a week now and my emotions are starting to skyrocket. But, otherwise, am trying to stay calm and not test again. I go for blood test on Monday.

Thanks for the encouragement!

stefgray,

If you're on luteal support (pregesterone pessaries or HCG injections) then the nausea might be from that. That's not to say you're not pregnant though, but it may explain the symptoms.

Good luck for your test on Monday!

Morning everyone. Just wanted to close this loop and let you know that my test was negative. Guess it was the medicine (and a lot of head stuff) making me think I could possibly be pregnant this time. Thanks so much for all of your well wishes (and baby dust!). Best to all of you who are pg now...hope all goes well for you. See you on the other band pages. Steph

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
