Know any surgeons in the Pasadena, Maryland area?

Recommended Posts

I have a very good friend who wants to start the lapband procedure. I would like to be able to recommend a surgeon in her area. Anyone know or have had the band done in Pasadena MD area? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi there! I didn't know that JHU and UMMS did Lapbands? I have a family physician at UMMS and she told me to go to their bariatric doctors who said they don't do lapband - hence why I'm planning to work with Dr. Singh at St. Agnes. Besides, I'm practically down the street from St. Agnes, so I'm looking forward to my banding before the year is out this year. Good luck!

Hi - did you all meet at the St Ag group? If anyone wants to meet up in SP let's plan something. I am not sure why I thought UMMS did the band, I think it was something I read in a campus newletter but they must have been referring to bypass. Singh did my surgery. I have been out of town a lot but around now for a couple of weeks so would love to meet you all.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
