Hi Lady!

I haven't been banded yet either. But was June 17 the day you got banded? If so, how has it been so far, what was your experience in hospital, is there any advice you can give us prebies?

Welcome!!!

Hi Shinnyoneday!

I was banded on June 17th, Everything went really smooth. I didn't have that much pain coming out of surgery, but a few hours later the pain really hits your exspecially if your going to try walking right away like they want you to.. Just take it as slow as you can. After going home I was in pain from the gas that they put in during surgery  that really stay with me for almost a week... The gas was worse than the pain of the incision( imagine that):) After my 6th or 7th day I was ok . Around the 2nd week I felt like a new person. I lost about 10 lbs in that 1st week  there after 6lbs over the next 2 weeks.(23 day post-op) Now it's kind of slowed down..My advice to you is, just make sure you follow the phrases as close as you can... And be patient the weight isn't going to come off as quick as we would like unfortunately  But it does come off... That's the great thing:thumbup: . All together it's been a great experience for me. I'm really, really excited about the weight coming off.. My 1st fill is Aug. 7th. I pray that everything goes well with your journey to being shinny1day. That's cute:biggrin:

Have a bless weekend!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
