Ok all i am finally excited again to get back on the band wagon. We had a clothing exchange at my support group meeting last night. Well i got a bunch of clothes that i thought was to small well i was trying some on today for shits and giggles just to see how far i had to go. Are you all sitting down. I have gone from a size 32 to a 26 or 24. I really didn't think these jeans were going to fit. They are regular button jeans however they are stretch denim but they don't stretch that much. I am so excited. I am wearing a pair of 24s to my nieces birthday party tomorrow.

Thats great about the size, but even better, the clothes didn't cost you anything!!!

I am down to a 20 from a 24 and can't afford to buy stuff right now. There are no exchanges or anything here. I hate my support group so don't go anymore.

Isn't great . . . I love those kinds of surprises. I have been doing a ton of "closet" shopping lately. I am already reaching the lowest limits of the smallest things I have. I might actually have to venture shopping soon.

32 to 26 is really awesome. Best of luck to quickly go to 24 . . . 22 . . . 20 . . . the skys the limit. Being banded is awesome.

You have done so well. Congratulations! Doesn't it feel so good to feel that you are a loser (of weight) but a winner in the health stakes!!

My loss has been slow, but I had more fill the other day and finally had come down nearly 5lbs so was able to finally change my ticker!! Yeah!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
