Contacts at INAMED...Band defect (LEAK)

Recommended Posts

I've tried asking this in other areas, but have had little success. Does anyone know whom we can contact, directly, or otherwise, at INAMED? My band has been determined to have a leak in it (defect, not overfill), and my doc "says" Inamed will replace the band, but I still have to pay over $5000 to have this all taken out and replaced, etc. I tried DON MILLS, but that email bounces back as a dead address.

Please, if anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm starting to have a mini-meltdown. Thanks all! Best wishes. A

thank you for the information.

i've tried the 800 number, it's absolutely impossible. i've left voicemails twice, no response. i've sent them an email through the "contact us" link, no response. i'm starting to get really angry about their "non-response" at this point.

any other thoughts? anyone else have direct contact information for INAMED? i'm going to keep trying the 800 number, but i think i'm just going to end up in voicemail hell again.

If it is a defective band wouldn't your doctor work with you to correct the problem. Why should you be dealing with it? I would ask your doctor to assist you because they obviously have to have a relationship with them.

Good luck though....

Since you are getting no response at this point, I would send them a certified letter with a return receipt so that you have proof that you mailed a letter and have a signature for who received it.

i finally got a response, but won't post it here. let's just say, it's not good, so i'd rather not bring that negativity. if anyone wants to know, please PM me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
