Emily3701 0 Posted July 10, 2008 Hello All! I am newly banded and this is my first time to post to this site. I am scheduled for my first fill on July 15th (surgery date was June 26th) and my doc already has me chewing and eating foods so I can let him know how much I can hold with no restriction. This seems to conflict with what most other people are doing??? Anyway, I am nervous about the fill and what to expect - any pointers would be greatly apprectiated! Thanks! plain 12 Posted July 10, 2008 Well, it's true that some docs are waaaaaay more conservative on when you can eat certain consistencies of food. There is still a lot of individual differences, though. If that's how your doc wants to proceed.....he's the doc. I assume, though, that he's had some experience with the band?
jacobsmomyatta 0 Posted July 10, 2008 my dr was very specific about food but it appeared to me that he was much stricter than most... anyway, for the fill dont worry at all! i went in for my first fill & this other lady in the office says to me "is this your first fill? its gonna hurt REALLY bad!" so i sit there nervously, anxiously awaiting. then the dr comes in with this huge needle & a pillow for my back & i waited while he prepped the port...SCARED! then he poked me & i barely felt it! i said "is that all?" he replied, "yes, all done!" no pain, just anticipation!!!
