Guest Janet C Posted September 21, 2003 Hello everybody, My name is Janet and I am looking into getting the Lap-band. I have not had an appointment yet, but have contacted CORI and they are sending me information. At this point I am only considering the band because the other operations look much to traumatic. I have been told you don't lose as much with the band but I would be happy just losing weight successfully and keeping it off for more than a week!!! My biggest question with the band is: Are you really hungry all the time after you have had it done? Thanks for reading, Janet
mello_one 0 Posted September 21, 2003 I too am hoping to get an appt. with CORI centers. I spoke with Lisa who checked my insurance and told me it covered at 100% I am relieved and happy about that. I am planning to attend a seminar in Belleville this weds. the 23rd. Good luck.
Alexandra 55 Posted September 21, 2003 Hi Janet, I think that when you hear people say they are "hungry all the time" you're hearing people who ared just recently banded. There is definitely a stage--just after surgery but before the first fill--when hunger pangs return with a vengeance. But it's OK to eat when that happens! Post-restriction, as I understand it, hunger really diminishes dramatically. I've noticed even now that when I'm done eating I stay full for a lot longer than I used to pre-band. I get hungry--I'm human, after all--but it already takes a whole lot less food to answer that need. Keep asking questions!!
