Marimaru 7 Posted May 17, 2005 My port is directly under my scar, and I can definately feel it. When I was newly post op, my mom felt it and thought it was a little hematoma under there, but it's Mr. Port. I can't tell it's there just by looking in the mirror or anything (accept for the scar of course), but I can feel it with little effort. Your doctor probably knows where he put it, which will help him find it. And I know when I lay down for my fills my doc pushes REALLY hard on it (probably testing position). If they have trouble finding it though, they can always do the fill under flouro.
HarleyNana 10 Posted May 17, 2005 I can feel my port, which is rather hard. It's an interesting feeling. I tell people who know about my surgery, to touch it, then they'll say, "eww, what is that", then I laugh and have to explain the port thing.
bandit 2 Posted May 17, 2005 I talked to MariposaBella (estella) about this. She is close to goal weight and I think she said she may need surgery to replace the port so u cant see it. Was this u Estella? Pipe in and give ur 2 cents. We all know I suffer from CRS .............................(cant remember shit) so I really shouldnt be talking for u. Im sure the conversation is probably not quite how I remember it if it was even u I had it with! lol
Guest j. lynn Posted May 17, 2005 I can feel mine. The more weight I lose, the easier it is to feel. That said, I could feel mine right after surgery, but then couldn't for about 3 months. Not sure if fat was relocating or what, but don't sweat it. They can always do fills under flouro. jayme

jennani 0 Posted May 18, 2005 I can feel my port when I am standing up and everything falls down (damn gravity) my doctor says there are different ways to position your body so they can find the port and of course as we lose weight it will get progressivly easier. Good luck to you

Trying2live 1 Posted May 18, 2005 I can feel mine but it freaked me out to do so for some time. I am over a year out and can still locate it very easily, in fact I have let my massage therapy guy, my chriopractor and my guy friend all feel my port. What fun! Mariposa Bella 3 Posted May 18, 2005 I talked to MariposaBella (estella) about this. She is close to goal weight and I think she said she may need surgery to replace the port so u cant see it. Im sure the conversation is probably not quite how I remember it if it was even u I had it with! lol Crap, I had already responded to this and I erased my message by mistake... My port sticks out, partly because of the weight loss, but mostly because it is flipped. I apparently lost one of the stitches and it will now need to be stitched back into place. It will however, cost me $1000 to fix, so I am putting it off for right now. (That is, until all your donations, start coming in, LOL) No, reallly it is not interfering with fills, so I will leave it alone for now. The area stays bruised because it pokes out, but it doesn't hurt. You can't really see it under my shirt if I am standing up, if I lay down it really pokes out, but oh well for $1000 it can poke out all it wants. So start sending all your extra change my way, we will start the poking out port fund... LOL he, h eee, well talk to you girls later.. Estela
