I finally got my fill. I have lost 3 lbs since the 17th. I am very restricted now. There has never been anything I couldn't eat and now there are a few things that won't go down. I have never vomitted but tonight I did. It was horrible and I can't figure out if it was the amount I ate, that I ate too fast, or if it was what I ate. I had refried Beans with cheese and a mini-taco (home made). I am not sure....maybe it could have been the lettuce or the taco shell. Anyway, I will stay away from both anyhow. This was my first solid food since my fill. I hope the vomitting doesn't last, I don't know if I can handle that. I have the 11cm band and I had 4cc my first fill and I got 3cc this time. It took the radiologist 35 minutes to stick my port. My port area is very sore and hurts more when I eat. He said it kept moving everytime he touched it. It made me sick and I felt like I would pass out because he took so long. I am glad it is over and hope he doesn't do my next one. The first one was over in about ten minutes.

Sandy, that's great! What a drag about the radiologist with the bad aim, though. It could be decades before the band is ubiquitous enough so that most people responsible for doing fills really know what they're doing, I guess. :)

Good luck with your eating! Let us know how it goes in the next week or so. And watch the weight come off!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
