cltmarie 0 Posted July 5, 2008 Hi, I'm new to the place. My name is Charlotte and I was banded 6/25/08. I'm feeling much better now, but the first 2 days really sucked. It hurt a lot more than I expected it to... and I'm no weenie when it comes to pain. Anyway, I have my first visit back to to doctor on 7/9 and don't really know what to expect. MUSIC MOM 0 Posted July 5, 2008 Hi Charlotte! I was banded on 6/24 and yes the first two days were rough but things are sooooooo much better now! I had my post op on 6/30 - the Dr. and I chatted about how I felt, checked my incisions, discussed the stage 2 diet and beyond - I had a few questions for him and then he told me I needed to schedule my first fill! I will be going to see him on Friday, 7/11 to get my fill - I am excited and a little nervous. So far things have been going well - I am not hungry and have been trying to walk 2-3 miles everyday. My Dr. likes to see you 1 month after a fill so I guess that will be my next big weigh in! This is the first time in my life I am looking forward to stepping on the scale. Good luck to you! cltmarie 0 Posted July 5, 2008 Maybe I will be getting a fill then..... it's about the same time frame. I'm looking forward to it, but a little nervous too. I need to start walking again. I didn't last week 'cuz it pulled when I walked and I thought maybe it would be best to let it heal a little more. But I haven't had any pulling for the last day or so, and we walked for hours yesterday. Do you feel restricted at all? I already feel like I can't eat as much..... MUSIC MOM 0 Posted July 6, 2008 I am not sure what restriction feels like but I do feel full after about a 1/2 to 3/4 cup of food. I have been trying to be very careful about what and how much I eat - so far so good! karebare714 14 Posted July 6, 2008 I am still in the process. I am 3 months through my 6 month dr supervised visits for insurance. I just sent in my paperwork for my surgeons office a few days ago. I should hear something in one to two weeks. I am a very impatient person and to add to my impatience I have to have this done by the end of the year. I have high deductable insurance and had to have 2 emergency surgerys earlier this year and have almost met my max out of pocket for the year. If I can't have this surgery by dec 31 then it will cost me $4000. I dont have that kind of money. Wish me luck. Karen :thumbup: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
cltmarie 0 Posted July 6, 2008 I know the feeling about the insurance...... I wouldn't have been able to do mine either if I hadn't had back surgery earlier this year. I wish you all the luck with both the 6 mo diet and getting it done by 12/31. I'm an impatient person too and now that I have the band, want the weight to come off yesterday.
