Hi...I am Pj. I live in Grand Prairie, Tx. Pre-op appt. will be July18th, 2008, surgery date is August 4th. I am anxious to get started. Dr. Smith in Ft. Worth is my Dr.

I live in the metro area. Dr. David Kim is my doctor. My surgery is the 22nd of July at NRH Hospital. You can certainly talk to me.

I have been on the Optifast for two weeks yesterday, with a total of 20 lbs gone. I have a week left. Since he was worried about my liver, with my diabetes, I had three weeks of pre diet shakes. He asks that we stay on a liquid diet for one week after surgery.

i had surgery 2 years and 2 months and 135lbs ago -- you are about to begin a grand beginning!!! good luck to you

Good Luck with your Surgery. Anxious to hear how it goes and how you feel afterwards. Was it pretty hard to do the shakes only? I will find out friday morning what my dr. has me to do before surgery. Wow...20 lbs...thats great !!! wtg, :blush:

Went for my pre-op today! I have lost a total of 21 lbs and 4 points off my BMI! Dr. Kim hugged me!

I can't wait until next week to get the surgery part over.

The only thing I am worried about is getting through the liquids only for 2 weeks. :confused2:

PJ, I'm just a few miles west. You'll love Dr Smith--and his office staff are amazing.

I had surgery last year--my first appt was 08/07/08 and I'm "mostly" at goal (I'm still losing 2-3lbs a month).

They all seem so nice. I'm so excited and ready to do this. A little scared too. Aug 4th is the day. Please keep in touch. Wtg on your weight loss..you look great on that horse. Very slim !!

I was referred to Dr. Kim by my PCP. I work with several physicians who perform the lapband procedure and I'm kind of torn about who I want to go see. Let me know how Dr. Kim is.....
