I'm wasting money peoples!

Recommended Posts

My husband and I will split the meal then I usually eat about 1/4 to 1/2 of that. If I do Ill take the rest home to have for lunch the next day. If you take it home to eat later itll probably keep hubby from eating it.

I've learned to not order certain things that aren't good when reheated. And I plan for meals that I make at home. For instance, when my sisters and I went out for dinner the other night, I ordered a burger and rice and Beans. I knew I would just eat half the burger meat. I took the bun and the rice and beans home. So for the second night, I just made hamburgers meat patties, used my bun for my hubby, the beans and rice and had a meal! All I spent was money on hamburger! Sometimes I just order sides, but chicken fingers, Soups, side salads, and mozzerlla sticks get old. :(

I need to quit buying the same portions of food I bought before. when going out. I am just wasting it. when will I learn.

I need a good swift kick in the butt if I order food that says "HEY you cant eat all that!"

Sometimes I take it home but I dont really like leftovers much they taste funny to me..

I need to start looking at the kids menus ..lol

You are so right!!!!!

I did the kids menu but more times than not they wouldn't let me order from that menu.

In the land of buffets, I purchased one of those books w/ coupons. Buy one get one free. So now, I can take one of my children and I can get the free buffet.

It's neat...and I am so excited for you. Now when I go thru drive thru...it's just something off the dollar menu. Yep, just one thing. And sometimes it doesn't even matter...something to fill my belly.

My relationship with food is so much different today than last year.

You know, something I USED to do when I ordered fast food. Id be woried about if the clerk was thinking I was a pig, so Id act like I was getting food for others as well and then wind up either WAY over eating or throwing in the trash what I just got. Being obese sometimes makes you do crazy things! I am so glad I dont do that anymore. I try and stay away from drive thrus now and when I do I just get 1 item. No burgers or fries. They are too pasty and will stick. Maybe chicken strips and I get the small one and eat maybe 1/4 of that.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
