Am I too early for my next fill

Recommended Posts

Since my first fill in mid June, The first week I lost 3 lbs. the 2nd week

1 1/2 lbs and the third week 2 1/2 lbs. I am still loosing weight however I am very hungry. I am scheduled for my second fill this coming Wed.

I was told that If I did not loose 2-3 lbs a week or if I was hungry, I was to come back in for another fill.

I am now debating if I am going back in too soon however I am very hungry,

So far I am very pleased with my progress weight wise. It is just that I am starting to eat too much.

How long between your meals do you get hungry ?

When i first got my fills I got them about every 6 weeks or so even if I was still losing weight, If i could eat a lot i got fills.

I eat a small Breakfast, I usually skip lunch and then eat an early dinner. I am trying to keep the calories between 1000 and 1200. I have problems at night. I did eat lunch today and then went back for seconds. This is happening more and more. When I first got my fill, I lost a lot of my appetite.

My problem seems to be eating too much. Too much for someone having a lapband.

If you feel like your getting in enough Protein , your not eating junk , then you might need a fill.

I would probably try to really eat lunch . If your allowed Snacks eat breakfast lunch and dinner and your Snacks and make sure your snacks are Protein snacks. Such as some lunch meat. If that does not satifsfy you then you probably need a fill. Its kind of hard to say w/ out knowing what your eating ?

But the fact that you went back for seconds for lunch ? What was it ?

My guess is you would need a fill , but talk to your doc he would best advice you .

HTH

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
