mommakatx2 0 Posted July 4, 2008 I had my port done way back in April and due to numerous stalls in the road, I still have not had my first fill. I will be having a different surgeon doing my fill than the one who did my surgery, because I since moved out of state. Anyway, I went in to meet this surgeon, and she told me my port was extremely hard to find. I had to have an ultrasound then to determine it's position. She said it's deep and tilted to one side, and I will most likely have to have it filled using ultrasound. Now I'm scared crapless that it's going to be a painful ordeal...over and over again until I get the right amount of fill. Has anyone been told something similar? If so...how did your fills go?
prissypotz 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Hey...every fill for me, my port has been harder to get to due to scar tissue. If they are going to do ultrasound be happy...that will take less pokes. At one point, I got poked about 8 times. It is not that bad. I don't think it is that painful. I'm down 70lbs so each poke is worth it. Good luck!
HildaM 0 Posted July 30, 2008 I had the same experience with my port. Please refer to my thread "Doctor not able to access my port". I had my first fill yesterday and it went great.
