buttcha 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Hi, this is my first post. i am soon to be 63 years old. i am 5 ft. 2 inches tall and weigh, gulp, 192. i am miserable. i have high blood pressure, diabetes, athritis, thyroid problems, eye problems, etc. in other words, i am not in very good shape to say the least. i have been on every eating plan i do believe, but it never lasts. i feel that if i do not get this weight off that i will not be around much longer. i am ashamed of my looks and do not like to go anyplace. i also do not feel like going anyplace. i have a wonderful, handsome husband who is very supportive. i also have some bad habits. i smoke. i drink wine. i am a couch potato. it hurts to walk. i get out of breath so quickly. i also have sleep apnea, so i feel tired most of the time. anyway, i just wanted to say hello to others that will probably understand what i am feeling. since i am considering the lap band procedure, i want to read through the threads and get an idea what to expect. thanks for your help. sincerely, buttcha
micountryfarm 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Hello and welcome, Buttcha! I researched a whole year before I made my decision to have the Lap Band. I was banded June 10 and have not regretted it. There are a lot of people in your situation who have had the LB and have been very successful. Find a great doctor and ask, ask, ask questions! It is a big decision and big commitment, but there is a better life out there for you! Be brave enough to go for it! Good Luck! Mrs J.J 2 Posted July 4, 2008 Read, research and ask, ask, ask. You´ll see in the threads that the actuall operation affects everyone differently, some have pain afterwards, some have a little. Where are you situated? I am a younger version of you, I decided to get my band done now so that I can be healthier when I get to my 60's and I am sure this operation will add years to my life. Hope you find inspiration through this forum to help make your decision.
