Hi everyone, I have heard that my surgeon is leaving and where I live in Rural KS I need to have a new one. Dr. Kirshenbaum is probably the closest to me. Is he young old aggressive in his fills, what about follow up care? Does he consult with you on the phone or e-mail? Is he easy to talk to about every aspect of weight loss. TOM to hunger to cravings overfills. If anyone can help, we don't have much for choice out here:thumbdown: Thanks for your help. Kerry from KS

I live in CO and am considering Dr. Kirshenbaum. Everything I have heard about him is all positive. Go to the "Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum" feed and you can see how great he is. They talk about their experiences and are just helpful in general. Hope this helps somehow!

Hi Kerry3: You can see by my tagline I went with Dr. K. My experience was more than I had hoped for. Very pleased. He's not aggressive with fills. You can expect a methodical doctor, no rush type. I was left with the impression he wanted you to fully understand the band, how it works and how the surgery works. My kinda guy. I'm post op one year, no problems with the surgery, recovery or my band. I was very pleased. Since I started he has added staff to his team. There is a woman named Natalie who works in his office. She's like the go to girl and I recommend you calling their office and just asking for her. She's been banded so she's "one of us". She's a great first contact person.

Best of luck.

Patty in Florida

I am not for sure about that. I don't see why not since you were banded in the US. Then again, don't listen to me since I haven't talked with him yet. Oh yeah, by the way ~ I just sent you a reply email and didn't realize that you are already banded, sorry about that! I am not yet banded, but hope to be soon.

I have a friend that was banded in Mexico and she lives in Nowhere, KS. She found someone she really likes but for the life of me I can't think of her ID here. If you email me through the LBT system I will email her and get you guys together to exchange info.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
