thenume 2 Posted July 3, 2008 It's gonna be awhile. Most docs are conservative with fills. The goal is to not overfill and have the patient be aware of what the feeling of being "full " feels like with the band. It is truly a process. I think I just reached my "sweet spot". It took 8 fills and I have a 4cc band. I am currently filled at 3cc's. Everyone is different though.
lizzieann 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Hi, You are probably a long way from good restriction. I have 10.5cc in a 14 cc band. I went for my first fill at 5 weeks post op. They gave me 3cc and told me I had 2cc already. I had really no restriction at 5cc, I went in one week later and got another 2cc and I felt a bit of restriction. I went back one week later and got 2 cc. I had some restriction at 7cc but not near enough. Went back and got 2cc again. They are done under floroscopy and i looked really tight. I noticed my restiction slowly fading. I went in 4 weeks later and the dr. could not believe how wide open my band was compared to 4 weeks before so he gave me 1.5 cc and said to come back in a week for more. Surprisingly I have pretty good restriction now. I really don't know whats going on. I was thinking I have a leak some where. I guess time will tell. Everybody is different so you cant really go by my experience. good luck. Lizzieann
