LundyLane 0 Posted July 3, 2008 Why is it taking you so long to just get two fills??? I had mine done on May 28, 2008 and have already had two fills. I would say your still hungry because your not filled enough.....that's my guess.
Alfie 58 Posted July 3, 2008 Hi Saima, You don't have any restriction most likely because you just don't have enough saline in the band. I had my surgery after you on January 23 and am about to have my 5th fill next Friday. Actually my restriction is pretty good so I may just go and see him but not get a fill. Any reason why you have not had more fills to build you up to restriction? Do you know how many cc's in how big a band? I have 6.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. Regards, Alfie
Lunabeane 2 Posted July 3, 2008 It's so strange that you have only had two fills. My Dr. does the first fill at six weeks and then every few weeks until goal. I would discuss the situation with your Dr.
Brandy~ 2 Posted July 3, 2008 You need more fills thats all it boils down to. I am not sure why you haven't had more.. Does your doc have a certain amount of time u have to wait between fills?
MissMom24 2 Posted July 3, 2008 I was banded 12/12 and have already had 12 fills and 1 slight unfill...I have lost 70 pounds. The key for me has been the fills, AS SOON as I fill loose, I go in. Maybe ask the fill doc if he will fill you to tight, let you drink and unfill you until you feel the Water disappear. Just a thought! Good luck!! Brandy .....uhhh, I'm not going to say that there aren't any doctors out there that wouldn't do that, but you may have a hard time finding one that will. Most doctors would NEVER intentionally overfill someone and then do adjustments based on "when they feel the Water go down".

Regards, Alfie thanx very much for replying to my thread i have a 14 cc band and only been in twice for a fill which i had to ring up my self to ask to be filled and the same with the third as i am very frustated that im not losing any thing which i should have done by know at least a stone but nothing was banded at the derby general hospital on the nhs may be thats why they are a bit back with the fills
Alfie 58 Posted July 4, 2008 Hi Saima, Oh ok, then you definately need a decent fill. I hope that you will get it and get restriction soon. Regards, Alfie
daisybug 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Saima, DEFINITELY get a fill. I am surprised they don't have you coming in to their office once a month for checkups/possible fills. I would start seeing them every month like clockwork, or even sooner if you don't see at least 1-2 lbs of weight loss a week. Start scheduling your appointments on your own since they don't want to help with that. Just my opinion, of course!! GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! 278/231/
