Nah Linda, I'm a Nov Nymph through and through! :) Besides I feel like it wasn't that long ago that I had it done before so I haven't forgotten too much. Just comparing notes sometimes to how I was feeling then to how I'm feeling now.

Hey Sades, you're doing amazing!! Hope you're feeling better as you watch the scale go down!

The scale is certainly going down Cindy. I'm still in some pain but it's getting a little better each day. I have been so busy at work this week that I'm totally exhausted... think I went back too soon. I'm so glad the weekend has come!

Hey Sades...

I got to meet CindyG today...she is so sweet and I wish I had more to time to talk with her. She stopped by my store before going to the Cape. We talked about you and that we really want to go see you....next year in our Bikini's. She is very beautiful too! I met her son and Aunt Nora...they had a blast sniffing my candles.

It was so nice to put a face with the name and I really felt like we have known each other for years...I wish we could all meet in person someday. I feel like you are part of the family.

Glad to see the scale moving in the right direction for you. Finally right! Relax this weeked...I can't even believe you went back to work already...

Hey Cindy that must have been great. I wish I wasn't so far away, would love to meet all of you! I met a woman called Danna who is on here because she has the same dr as me. It was really funny actually because we were posting about our first appointment date last year and we both had our initial consulatation on the same day. In discussing it further we discovered that we were seeing the same dr and her appoint was the one before mine, weird. Anyway, we met that day. We have met once more after that. Small world.

I seriously think it would be great if you guys did come to Australia... what a prize for your weight loss.

You've met Judy as well haven't you?

Hi Nymphs! It was so great to meet Cindy today at her beautiful store! We were on our way to Cape Cod and her stores are near there. We bought a bunch of candles and I would have loved to visit longer but my son was anxious to get to the Cape.

Cindy had a great idea. We should all try to get together sometime. Cindy said it would be great to take a cruise together to Celebrate our weight loss but any kind of get together would be amazing. Or we could cruise to Australia and pick up Sades!

If only...

Anyway, getting to meet our resident cheerleader was a lot of fun! Cindy is a doll and as sweet in person as she is online!

Hey Sades, what are you doing back to work already? I'm so glad that you are feeling OK but you need some rest! You're doing great and I'm so happy for you that your weight is finally going down.

Glad to hear that you enoyed your time with cheerleader Cindy... yay Cindy! A cruise, now that's a thought.

It's a pleasure jumping on the scale at the moment. I haven't been this weight for at least 13-14 years. Can't wait for the next 10 lbs!

I love the idea of Australia, Sades. Just don't know how many of us can get over there. Any chance of you coming to the States in the next year?

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
