I lost something very important today

Recommended Posts

:o I so understand your love and hurt. I am so very sorry. I lost my black lab to a car 4 days ago. My little house dog is slowing down now that he is 10 year old. I have lost a few already and sometimes wonder why we put ourself through it. May God give you peace.

I am so sorry! I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and truly believe and treat them like my children. I have lost pets and know the absolute pain you're feeling. A lot of folks don't understand that you have this connection and that this little creature loves you unconditionally as do you them. The Rainbow Bridge poem gave me so much comfort and hopefully you will give yourself the time to grieve the loss of your family member. Many prayers for you and Pedro.

I am so sorry about losing Pedro. What an incredibly cute little man. I had a dog that got hit by a car many many years ago and I still feel bad about it when I think about her getting hit and having to make the decision to put her down because of her injuries. My thoughts and prayers are with you and no you are not crazy, cry till you can't cry anymore.

Hugs,

Susan

I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of someone who loves you so unconditionally is so hard to deal with. My two dogs are my children and I can't imagine life without them. Please know that you are in my prayers!

Thank you for all of the wonderful replies. Pedro was my buddy. You have helped to memorialize him and I appreciate it. He left behind a sister. Her name is Lucy. She is sleeping alone tonight. My wife and I have decided to love and enjoy Lucy that much more rather than add another dog to the family.

Here are the two of them as they usually sleep.< /p>

Had to check in this morning to see how you are doing today musicman..

If that isn't the sweetest pciture of the babies ...

Grieving is hard but it is a process we just have to endure when we love these little guys like we do ..

Oh and not now but I agree with favorite you should reach out later for another baby that needs a home..Somehow they will find you ...

Take care

I'm so sorry about your loss. Losing a pet is so painful, I had to put one of my babies down a few months ago (she was 15) and I felt like my heart was going to break in my chest.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss  I have a terrier mix who is 14 and has early kidney failure at least I have time to make my goodbyes. I don't know what I would do if it was sudden.

She has been with me through a divorce, a remarriage, adopting two special needs children, 4 military moves, allowing two other cast away dogs into our home, and me gaining and losing 100lbs. 3 times just to name a few. She has been with me in sad, bad, happy times and everything in between and has never complained or asked for anything (exept the occaisional treat)

I don't know of many humans that would be there through all that and not complain, and not ask for anything in return.

We all mourn with you and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.....

The loss of any beloved pet breaks my heart. I hope that soon the pain you feel will be replaced with memories that bring you joy and smiles.

Sincerely ~ Tai in CA

My heart goes out to you Musicman. The loss of a companion is just devastating. I lost my 21 year old cat this past February, words cannot express how much these little darlings mean when they pass. Keep hold of your memories and cuddle little Lucy I am sure she will need you too now and will understand your tears and your pain.

God bless you

Kizzie (the name of my cat I had her when I was 14 and lost her this year.)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
