I lost something very important today

Recommended Posts

My dog, Pedro (chihuahua) was killed by a car today. This may not be the best place to post this but it's all I've got. He was 10lbs. White with brown ears. He was extremely smart. I could tell him to "go lay down" and he would climb in his bed until I called him. He knew several tricks. He loved bones. And anytime we would take him outside to play he would always come in with a big smile. I always thought pet owners were crazy when they would cry over an animal, well, call me crazy.

I am so sorry, I was a dog owner and he was my love! Animals are amazing and healing, and when the world turns against you, a loyal friend you would always have. I believe there is a special place for our animals once they pass so keep smiling and you will be reunited again one day! Prayers to you and RIP Pedro!

I am so sorry, your post made me cry. I feel for you, I lost my golden retriever on June 10th, she had to be put down, was fine in the morning and later that day her trachea collapsed and we rushed her to the vet but there was nothing they could do.

So sorry for your loss.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, Water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am so very sorry to hear about your little dog. You aren't crazy at all for crying or feeling so strongly. Our pets are like children to us, and they love us unconditionally. I hope you are ok, and again I'm so sorry.

i have 3 dogs and can only imagine how you feel. a pet brings great joy into our lives. after you grieve i think it would be a great idea to get another dog. you can never replace the one that you lost because they are all individuals, but you can find new happiness with another.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
