Sleepy24Seven 0 Posted July 2, 2008 (edited) Hello all! I am new here to the forms & caught the notice to why not post a message here saying hello. Good idea so here I am! I have finally decided on the lap band but after talking to a man I encountered via phone, he raised some concerns/issues I should be aware of before my consult. I understand his concern as I wish I knew what to expect when I had my gall bladder removed last year (still suffering from side effects.) Any information, suggestions, tips, etc is greatly appreciated especially from forum members that had/have narcolepsy & sleep apena. *susan* 1,709 Posted July 2, 2008 Hi and welcome to LBT. What specific concerns did he mention? If you list them, perhaps we can help you address them. We look forward to getting to know you better.
pennyt 14 Posted July 5, 2008 Which surgeon are you seeing? My surgery was with Dr. Clark out of St. Francis hospital on the southside.
Sleepy24Seven 0 Posted July 7, 2008 Thanks for the replies! Wow so many posts I got lost finding mine again. Susan ~ The gentleman I talked to mentioned that he was on a liquid diet for 1 month pre-op & 1 month post-op. He didn't expect that to be the case & was not happy about that. His biggest thing he told me was to make sure I have all the facts before I make my decision. Pen ~ Hey neighbor. I had thought about Dr. Keith McEwen as I was trying to see him before to have him remove my gall bladder but he was so booked & the pain was too much to wait for him for that surgery. The event that made me finally decide to seriously consider the surgery was recently when I went to an amusement park. I barely could fit in the seats of a lot of the rides & therefore could not enjoy the time with my child for the constant worry if I could fit in the seat of each ride my child wanted to ride. By the end of the day, I wanted to just go home & cry from sheer humiliation & frustration.
