Kami,

I just spent the afternoon poking around on some of the websites you suggested. I found the cocnonut oil thing fascinating. Especially the U.S. government effort at a smear campaign to discourage the use of it, so U.S. oil producers would reap the financial benefits. Disgusting. Now I understand why I had the impression I had about the oil, and was only aware of the water.... I sure could use some help with rough red skin on my face and sore arthritic joints!!! This is going to be a great thread!!

My Homoeopath suggested Bellis Perenis C30 and Arnica Monatana C30 for the healing after the Surgery.

If one doesn't help usually the other one does.

Lessens the bruising and swelling. I also took it after giving birth and it shortened the recovery time after a difficult birth... a lapband surgery and the adjustment to a new life style afterwards can't be worse than having my first child.

I ordered globuli (little "pills") in Germany, but I am pretty sure you can find them in the Americas too.

Staphisagria might be helpful too.

Excellent info Nachtigall.... thank you, I will read more on those... I have taken Arnica Montana and did so before and after Lap Band surgery... hardly any recovery pain and no bruising.

Aubrie... I am glad you got the chance to read more up on Coconut oil.... why the government and actually sometimes traditional doctors do for the sake of profits is quite sickening... I just read all I can and educate myself on my and other medical conditions and sometimes I feel I know more about things than my family practitioner does... that is why I really don't go to her... my naturalpath has helped me more in one year than my doctors have all my life. As for the coconut oil helping your skin and arthritis... my arms are clean and soft finally after starting to use the oil and also I have forgot my daily doses of coconut oil the last 3-4 days due to business and I can barely walk again, my feet hurt so bad. All that was gone with regular use of coconut oil. I am doing an experiment as well... I am making sure I work myself back up to the 3 tablespoons daily (whether cooking, rubbing it on or eating it plain) and I am not going to count it in my daily calories, because I read somewhere that you don't have to count it.... and I am going to see if I stick to a 1200 calorie diet, then add the 360 calories from the coconut oil.... will I still lose weight at a good rate? So far I did lose 30 pounds post surgery eating it... so I am wondering if I get back on it... will that continue, especially since I am getting my first fill today! I will let you all know!

PS... I can say that when I make sure what I eat has coconut oil in it or I eat the large flakes of unsweetened dried coconut (which contains a good amount of oil), i don't get hungry as often and eat less when I do... I am starting back today... but work yourself up as if you start with a larger amount of it, you get loose stools and gas pains!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
