Recipe Exchange??

Recommended Posts

Sorry if ya'll have done this already & I'm on the slow uptake, but I thought that since we're all approching our 8th month, we'd have some recipe's we could share with each other. I'm particularly interested in Slow Cooker recipes. But here I'll start off...

1 lb. boneless brisket or chicken/turkey breasts (6)

1 package of DRY spicy jalapeno salad dressing (I got it at the $1 store)

6 potatoes (skinned & cubed'ish)

1 small package of frozen carrots

1 head of celery

1/4 c milk

1 T Butter/Margarine

In fridge (overnight) marinate the brisket/breasts in Salad Dressing package & Water (enough to 1/2 cover) turn midway through marinating

Next day, cook ALL DAY on low the meat, marinade mixture, potatoes, carrots & celery.

Make sure to cook the brisket (fatty side up). The potatoes, carrots and celery will be really really soft.

If desired & u like taste: take out all veggies and place in bowl. With electric mixer mix veggies together w/a little bit of broth from cooker, very tad bit of milk (use more if needed for bigger veggies) & "I can't believe it's not butter."

To me it's really really tasty. You get ur Protein & veggies all in one, and the slow cooker keeps in all the minerals & Vitamins that you would lose in boiling or microwaving.

Tell me if u like it or not.

I just came up with this one the other day.

1/2 carton of Ricotta cheese

5 packets splenda

1 scoop of Protein powder (i use nectar, chocolate)

Mix all together and you have a low carb. HIGH Protein snack! About 40-45 grams protein from my calculations!

Nice, yummy, sweet, creamy, etc.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
