Hey Trish, thanks for the information. So far I haven't had problems with any foods. I tread fairly carefully, but I'm already allowed mushies and soft food after 2 1/2 weeks. I can go on solids after the 28th appt if everything is going well. My first fill will be Aug 6th and after reading so many posts I'm not counting on any restriction.

I moved to VA 7 years ago from Lawrenceville, NJ (between Trenton and Princeton). I lived in NJ for over 40 years. I know about where you are... Pennsville and Penns Grove area. I have a brother that still lives in Moorestown and another that lives in Chesterfield. I was there in May when my youngest brother had a big white trash party.. it was a blast; he had a blow up doll, a blow up sheep, an Elvis impersonator, and lots of typcal foods like cheese whiz and spam!

About the incisions... I have the same thing. In fact, just last night I cut off the small part that was hanging. LOL I didn't come unwound or anything, so I guess it's okay. They still itch a bit, but besides that they're not too bad.

Congratulatons on the 25lbs! I hope to get there by the time I go back to school in about 5 weeks.. that's my mini goal, anyway.

Donna

Trish - I had that problem with my dissolving stitches too. Just the corner or ends on the biggest 2.5 inch scar. Thats because that is where the knot it so it takes much longer to dissolve and for me that knot wasn't internal enough to get the moisture needed to dissolve so I felt this little sharp plasticy feeling thing. I was going to pull it out by DH had a fit so at my next visit I showed my doc and what did he do. Take the tweezers and pulled it out with a tug then put a bandaid on it lol. So yeap you're not the only one.

Good Morning, I just haven't really had anything interesting to post, but today I will, I'm meeting Diane after her office visit today, yay.

I sent her a message last night and told her to bring her swimsuit and we'd hang out in or around the pool, it's supposed to be a beautiful day.

OK Betty, call off the monkeys, LOL.

Where's Kat, every time I get ready to call her it's AM, and I never know what time it is where she is, LOL.

Hugs all around.

Good Morning everyone, I hope this post finds you well. I'm getting ready to go on vacation next week and I'm having a bit of a clothing crisis. I don't want to buy anything because I'm losing and what I have that fits is looking outdated or shabby. Any cheap suggestions?

Sherry, I look forward to your long posts. Type away when you have enough energy! :frown:

Trish- I'm right here; somedays I just don't think I have much of interest to say. I'll post more if you don't mind the mundane. LOL

Betty, are you recovering from your company? People who don't entertain have no idea how much work is involved for those that do. I enjoy it, but it does take time and it can take its toll.

Pat and Diane, enjoy your day at the pool. It certainly is beautiful weather today.

Have a terrific day everyone!

Donna

Hello Y'all!

Glad to see a little more posting.

Pat - I figured you were spending your time at the pool! What did you decide to do about the girls?

Donna - we don't care what you say, when I come here and no one has posted,a then I don't either. Then pretty soon nobody posts!

Where are you going for vacation, maybe we could give you a few ideas if you tell us what you will be doing. Yes, my company did leave, and yes it took me a while to get things back to normal. I really do enjoy entertaining, but it sure does wear me out too! My DH don't do much as far as house and cooking, but he does do the outside work and that is a lot too. Although most of the time I have to help out there too as he doesn't do things like I would like make sure all the tables are really clean and stuff like that.

Diane - fill us in on the doctor if you can when you leave Pat's house. I know those cocktails might be a problem. lol

Kat - Did you desert us for the shrinking violets? We need you here too!

Well, it is just down right hot here. I think I will go jump in the pool too.

Catch you all later!

Oh, I'm so full, can't decide if it's all the liquids I had helping Diane with her fill and ask Donna about the Woo Woo Martini :cool2:....or my date at Bone Fish. It was soooo good, I had the Bang Bang shrimp and Soup, then I ordered the shrimp fettuccine, which I brought home, in it's entirety, wth was I thinking, LOL.

I'll be back tomorrow to include some great pictures of Diane and Donna, we had a great time today.

Later girlies,

(hmmm, gee not surprised I didn't see Diane in here, LMAO)

Betty, cocktails were no problem at all!!!!LOL! Seriously though, I had a fantastic time. Doc said that since the "good food" seemed to be a problem, but that I could eat a whole bowl of popcorn....indicated that maybe I was a tad too tight. whatever. Ultimatley, he added just a cc. for the fill. everything is looking good and is all as it should be (looking at it from the flouroscope). so now I have some newfound determination and a top-off on the fill :cool2: so, wish me luck. I had a great time getting together with Pat, then she invited Donna (dj bryan) over, it was such a nice "get-together". Oh, and BTW...Pat makes a mean "woo-who martini" LOL!

Good Morning Y'all!

I only wish I lived close enough to Pat to do a get together. I am very jealous!

Diane - I am glad you had a good time and got a little fill. I hope it works for you!

Pat - I still do the samething, always order way more than I will ever eat. I really go overboard when I go to an all you can eat place, but I don't mind doing it there as after I get to my table and take a bite of something and then can't eat it, it's ok because I have lots of other things to choose from since my plate is full. I konw that is wasteful, but I don't eat that much anyway so they really aren't losing too much.

I just found out that my band doctor is moving to a different town here in texas. It will be a long drive for me now. I am not happy about that!

Well, got to run so I'll try to check in tonight.

Have a great one!

Good afternoon, ladies. It's another beautiful day here.

Betty, I'm going to Boston and Cape Cod. It will be casual, but there are no laundry facilities so I'm scrounging a bit to find something to wear each day.

I had a great time over Pat's yesterday. Her and Diane are so sweet and welcoming. Pat's home is fabulous and she's a wonderful hostess. The picture she shows here does not do her justice; she's a knock out. I think its time to update. :Banane03:

Diane, are you still on liquids? Can you tell any difference with your new fill? You're right, Pat makes a helluva martini.:)

Hey Trish; hope you're doing well.

I'll catch up with all of you tomorrow. Take care.

Donna:teeth_smile:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
