angiegood 0 Posted August 11, 2008 Hi Everyone- I will be having my surgery this coming Friday with Dr. Kahlil in San Diego. The last weeks have been very exciting, but now the excitement is turning into nerves. I started my Protein Shakes this weekend, my doctor recommended the shakes from costco, they are o.k. If anyone has any recommendations for preperations I could make prior to Friday I would really appreciate it. I live in a very rural area and have an hour drive to the nearest grocery store so I'm hoping to be prepared prior to Friday. Thanks so much for any help. Thanks Angie
vegasgirl44 0 Posted August 11, 2008 Has anybody else had to down 2 bottle of this stuff the day before surgery to clean out your bowels? I need to drink this all day starting Wednesday morning and people are telling me I should take off work that day. I have a BR close to my office. Do I really need to take off? I hardly have any food in my system anyway. Please Advise. Thanks:confused::)

SeeShell 0 Posted August 11, 2008 Hello all! It’s crazy how our stories all differ a bit. The gas has about killed me. I can't burp to save my live so thank God it can come out the other end...lol I just today experienced the weird BMs. But with that comes more gas out so I can live. I can totally lie on my sides and that has helped with getting the gas out. I will say I am SO tired of the liquid diet. But this to shall pass. :wink2: I got myself a nice new scale today and like what it said already! Good Luck All!!
dixiedoo 0 Posted August 11, 2008 Hey Shamrockgirl - nice to hear that everything is progressing well. A question though - Why did you have to wait before you used your CPAP? I am really not able to sleep without one. They told me to bring mine in with me when I go for surgery on Friday. Please fill me in.

GOODBODY 0 Posted August 12, 2008 hi guys, i'm from maywood, il; a suburb of chicago. Shout out to all you illinois bandsters. i've been tipping in on this site for over a year now and you folks are great! I have had so many of my questions answered. My surgery date is 8/13/08 12pm - finally - and it's taken so many years to get here. I'm excited, nervous, & yes scared. I have never been this concerned going into surgery before. This whole process has taken so long and been so un-nerving it keeps you on edge; and now i’m like "oh my god, i'm really going to do this" – my answer to self – “yes i am going to do this and this will give me the edge to do great things”. Dr. Peter rantis from the kane center at alexian brothers hospital in arlington heights, il. Is performing my surgery. Well just wanted to say hi and thanks to all of you who have had the courage to make a drastic change and share it with others as you are doing here. Please pray for me - like i said i'm a little nervous. I'll keep you posted as to my progress. goodbody, out
PaulaTx 0 Posted August 12, 2008 I've got 2 days left before being banded on Thurs. Aug 14th. I'm SO excited! I can't wait to be over this liquid diet and NOT feel hungry! I went to the hospital today to pre-register and do blood work. Then had to go over to the Dr. office to weigh and pay my portion of the surgery. I had lost 9 lbs. since last Tuesday. I thought that was great. I hope these next 2 days go by fast!
LindaGail 0 Posted August 12, 2008 Angie, when I was on Protein Shakes prior to my surgery on August 4th I put it in a blender with 4 ice cubes and put the blender on puree for 30 seconds and it made it like a thick malted. It helped me get thru. Take Care, LindaGail
