new band, new question

Hi just had the band placed three 1/2 weeks ago at GBMC and feeling hungry but they told me I would feel hungry untill I get the first fill. My question is actually about carbs. Does anyone know what a good carb count for a day should be?

I would go by what the doctor says, but my doc had me on 40 - 50 carbs a day and now I just watch it close.

Hi Sue. The plan my nutritionist gave me accounts for:

4-5 servings of Protein

2 servings of vegetables (non-starch)

2 servings of fruit (carbohydrates)

2 servings of starch (carbohydrates)

3 servings of fat

The only thing I would add to this is to make sure that you are getting in the Protein before moving on to the other categories.

Suetigg2, that's where I had my surgery also. The main concern is getting enough Protein and then worrying about your carbs. By the way the nutritionist at the Center is great, you can call her anytime and she'll give you any guidance you need. Any time you need help the whole staff, office, nutrition, nurses make you feel as though it is their life's mission to help you achieve your goal.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...
