Just a little update...

The doctor I selected will not operate on someone who smokes and requires you to be smoke free for three months prior to surgery. I started quitting last Monday and I haven't had a cigarette since this Monday!

I told my doc before surgery that I smoke. He asked me to cut down before surgery, which I did. When we spoke about smoking again, he suggested that I wait until I have lost weight before I tackle my smoking addiction.

I would not lie about not smoking, it´s in your best interest that if anything goes wrong during surgery or after, that all the docs and nurses are aware that you are a smoker.

My Aunt quit smoking and gained 80 pounds. Her doctor told her she should take up smoking again :thumbdown:
