Hi, I was wondering if anyone gets B 12 shots? If so, does it work? My weight loss is at a stand still but I'm doing everything like I'm supposed too so I think I need a kick start.

Thanks

I have gotten them in the past and I really didn't notice a difference. I would get energy for that day only and that's about it. But, that's just me I have heard of it helping other people.

I offer b-12 shots in our office as an option for those who are at a stand still, i do see it work. in fact it has worked for me as well when i have been at a stand still for a period of time. It wont hurt to try it out but of coarse consult your doctor first.

I've also had them in the past and never could feel any different. Some people feel uplifted after a B-12 shot. You might try it once and see if you are one of the lucky ones that the B-12 shot makes a difference!

Me personally...I think B Vitamin Shots are a farce! I was on a doctor supervised diet for over a year and a half (went off of it in Feb 08) and for over a year I did the B Vitamin shots and the last few months I did not. Did not improve my energy nor did I lose more weight with it compared to without. That is just my personal experience.

I take the B-12 tablets every morning, they're just part of my daily regimen. I don't take them for wl, more so for memory and I can tell when I get out of the habit of taking them.

I give myself b-12 injections every other week, 1/2 cc at a time. I can definitely feel the difference if I miss my injections, but that's because I don't have a terminal ilieum. The terminal ilieum is the last portion of the small intestine before it connects to the large intestine, and it's where the B Vitamins are absorbed by the body. Mine was removed due to Crohn's Disease, so if I didn't do the injections, I wouldn't get b-12 at all.

If you don't have pernacious anemia (which is not having enough b-12), then the shots really won't do you much good. Your body will simply excrete the excess b-12.

If you think you need the b-12, ask your doctor to order blood work to measure your b-12 level, as well as other levels.

I'm also Vitamin D deficient, and am taking supplements. If they don't help by the next blood work, I'm going to have to get Vitamin d injections.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
