Hello everyone, I was banded on June 18 by Dr. Kwon in NY. I have been doing great, recovered much quicker than I thought. I even went to a Backyaragins Live show with my 2 yr old 4 days post surgery. I have now lost a total of 30lbs...18lbs post surgery. The liquid diet is getting really boring, but I know in the long run it will be worth it...

Any suggestions about the liquid diet. I am worried about that! I had some chicken broth and I added garlic salt, Lawrys Seasoning Salt, Thyme and dill and it tasted pretty good. I am on a pre-op diet until my band on July 4th. good luck and good job!

I made egg flour Soup. Boiled chicken and used the broth and swirled eggs in it. Then strained it was great and ok by my doc. I was also creative with my drinks add yogurt, pudding mix SF. There are several ideas available on the internet.

Have fun and best of luck to you. I did the liq diet for three weeks I am now on one meal a day and the rest liq. its not all that bad

Okay, I been wondering this for the last couple of days. If we can do liquid diets some up to 3 weeks then why can we not control what we eat other times and not have the band? I am wondering if I can do this why should I spend the money on getting the band if I am going to have to have the strength of liquid diets? Is it because we see an end to all this madness of struggling with food?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
