July Butterflies Master Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm having such terrible acidy stomach problems. I don't have reflux, but I have extremely overactive acid pumps and I've had so much stomach pain in the last two weeks; I think I'm going to ask if I can have an unfill today to maybe help facilitate some healing. I have mixed feelings because I don't yet have restriction and was hoping that I'd feel some with my next fill. On the other hand I don't have restriction now and I'm losing at a comfortable rate so taking the Fluid out of my band wouldn't change much.

I am taking a quadruple dose of Prilosec and have felt no improvement. I hope that the doctor has some kind of solution that can control this ongoing problem. I've always had an overly acid stomach, but I've never felt so much discomfort.

sorry to hear of your trouble, hope you can resolve it soon

I was able to eat some Progresso Minestrone for lunch! Yay!! AND (drum roll please) I think I may be at the so called "sweet spot" since just 1/4 cup satisfied me!

I am hoping to get another cc on Monday.

Bye the way, Donna, thanks for setting up the "July Butterflies" chat room. I think it will be a help to all on this thread. For you who haven't plugged in to chat room it is 1pm eastern and 8p on Monday night.

You're welcome. Just some clarification: 8:00 PM Monday nights Central so it would be 9:00 PM Eastern on Monday nights. Also the room is not a permanent room so the first person to enter chat needs to create the room.

800-1200cal a day.....walk 30minutes a day.....Journal everything that goes into your mouth!.....that's what I do and if I don't journal I eat at least 1600 cals a day. As you can see I am stuck too. I got a fill yesterday. Now I have 5cc in a 10cc band. I do feel more restriction.

Okay, you have any ideas!

OK, I opened the room for the daily lunch chat. I've lost track and don't remember if it was 11 Central or 12 Central. Anyway, I have to run but the room is up so you may see my name there but I will actually be away from the computer.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
