July Butterflies Master Thread

Recommended Posts

Crzytchr, oh there is not a link for the Easter Challenge. I just made it a personal challenge.....I think it would be great if the July Butterflies do it together. I really want to lose 50lbs by my bandiversary so I have set the bar high this time. I lost 9 out of 10 on the Valentine Challenge......so if I try for 15lb by Easter I will be on my way to my goal for July or close to it.

Be careful on the ibuprofen. My doctor told me it would be okay to take it, but not on a regular basis. It has something to do with the band. So, if they give you an anti-inflamatory ask your band doctor if it is okay.

Thanks. I am going to after hours this morning. I am hurting so bad and finding bruises in the most random places. Who knew? This is the first major wreck I have ever been in:crying:

Well, I went to after hours this morning and they took xrays and did a urinalysis. I have 2 fractured vertebrae in my neck and blood in my urine. I was told I can't return to work until I see my orthopedic and have a ct scan of my neck. That is when I began crying because I did NOT want to miss anymore school. I am out of sick days from my leave from the surgery and I KNOW the administration has to be sick of me not being there. I just changed school districts this year an I don't have tenure. I hated calling my principal to tell her that. She is really nice, but dang, I hated doing it.

The pain is pretty intense, so I am going to take my muscle relaxer and lortab and go to bed. Good night.

Well butterflies... I had a REALLY crappy V-Day!!!:crying: I got in a wreck when a lady made a left hand turn in front of me. I hit her, it spun me around, and I got hit again. It looks like it totaled my 1 year old car. We got a 3 yr note on it when we bought it so we could pay it off for my daughter's graduation. So, needless to say, we are on the losing end of this deal when all that basically happens is that they pay it off!!! We paid over $7000 in notes this past year. This is of course assuming that the woman's insurance is still active. It wasn't a good sign that when you call the claims number they are only open M-F from 8-5.:cursing: The 4th car involved in the wreck couldn't believe I actually walked away relatively ok from it. I am just hurting REALLY bad. Hopefully it will all work out. I hope everyone else's V-day was MUCH better than mine! Oh, are y'all going to join the April Fools Day Challenge?

I'm so sorry. That's really awful. It's a good thing you went to get checked out -- did they give you one of those neck braces until you could get to your doctor? Also, have you contacted an attorney about your accident? Insurance companies are notorious for not wanting to pay the full amount of all damages so it's usually a good idea to get a lawyer. BTW, the insurance is not supposed to pay off the note, it's supposed to reimburse you the actual market value.

I am in the neck brace now. If the lady has minimum coverage coverage (in LA, that is only 10-20-10), then she doesn't even have enough to cover the car AND she damaged 3 other cars besides her own, so it is a

'get in line and hope yours gets paid before its gone" situation. Because I did a 3 year note, the value is about 1000 more than the payoff. If I would've done a 5 year note, I would be upside down right now. I am just really frustrated and hurting. An attorney, unless she has more than minimum coverage, won't do me any good.

That just sucks crzytchr.

On a separate note, my daughter is a girl scout and we have way too many GS Cookies in the house. It's a really, really dangerous thing. I pigged out on Caramel Delights and Thin Mints last night.

Since my unfill, I DEFINITELY have a much bigger appetite. It's amazing what .5 cc can do. I need to get some put back in but I need to wait until my period returns to normal cycle. I missed my last period and it's been almost a month already. I think I may be entereding into perimenopause. For those of you wondering, no, I am not pregnant. I had a tubal ligation 8 years ago but just to be safe, I did do a pregnancy test and it's negative. I am so regular and consistent on my periods I could practically predict it to the hour.

Yep, I know what you mean. I just had a fill on the 10th and went out for Valentines and ate fried oysters, only 3 and 2 fried shrimp. OOPS!! I know better but it was so so so good. I try to justify it by telling myself once in a blue moon it's ok to splurge but when it comes down to it I know I just could have gotten it broiled and I'm sure it would have been just as good. Still kicking myself in the butt. Girl scout Cookies I'd be a gonner!!!!

My period came today. It just completely skipped the month of January. It's never done that before. Anyway, now I'm free to get a fill so I scheduled one for next Tuesday. I'm going to ask for just .25 cc this time. Normally I don't tell them how much, they've always just put in .5 cc after the first attempt at 1 cc which turned out way too much at once.

I had a fill last thursday and she put in.2cc It is just the right amount . I have more restriction and I am not pb'ing like when she put in 1cc. For the first time I think I may be at or near my sweet spot. I hope all goes well for you!

Hi Crzytchr, MsNick here. I was in a wreck similar to yours 10 years ago. Though the driver didn't have enough coverage, my attorney collected from my own under/uninsured insurance coverage. Doesn't hurt to check it out with a professional, just like you fortunately did your vertabrae. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Hey, where is everybody? I am just checkin in. I am not losing this week. I guess it is because I have a cold, and I don't want to get out and walk. I know....no excuses. I hope everyone losing this week.

I wish I could say I lost this week but for right now I seem to be holding steady. I go back to my PS tomarrow and I think maybe she'll release me so I can go back to curves next week. I haven't worked out in about 8wks and I also know no excuses because my legs still work and I could have been walking. hope to get back into the swing after the weekend. I really want that little rabit to reach goal for the Easter challange being I didn't hit the Valentines goal. hope everyone else is losing a little better right now.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
