Your eating plan sounds good to me. I know I am eating to much, but after this last fill I am hungry most of the time. My scales moves up and down every couple days. I'm getting pretty depressed about it. I don't go for another fill until December 5th. I may see if I can go in earlier, the holidays scare me. I love all the holiday goodies. Got to get this weight off to help take care of my new grand-daughter (born Nov. 12 - 6.99 lbs. 19 1/4" long). I didn't know being a grandmother could be so much fun.

congrats on the new grand baby!!! She will keep you active. I'm worried about the holidays too.

hang in there.

Hi all,

Question for everyone. I go to the doctor tommorrow and I am having a delima. I have a total of 5ccs in my band. And I don't know if I should have another fill or not. I had alot of trouble in the beginng with very bad pbing and actually getting sick. But now for the the most part I am doing well. My hubby thinks that I should leave it alone because I can eat a fairly normal meal and steal lose weight and not feel deprived. The Dr has me come see him once a month so he can see how I am doing. I am afraid to get another fill right now b/c I don't want to have more of a problem. Sometimes I eat to quickly b/c I am starving since my job is on the phone 8 hrs a day taking calls so I very rarely have time to eat a snack or drink to stave off the hunger. So I think in the begining that is why I had the pbing episodes but now I am feeling much better with my fill. I can eat about 6 to 8oz of solid Protein which I think is good. As far as excersing I climb stairs alot at work and walk a little so I need to get more exercise.

So what is everyones opinion?

1day, if you are satisfied, and still losing weight, I would put off having a fill. I just got my second fill this past Monday and I only have a total of 2ccs now. I didn't need a fill for a while, so I didn't get it. You definitely don't want to be sick during the holiday. See how you handle Thanksgiving dinner. If you find that you overate, then go for a fill after this week. If you handle the Thanksgiving meal well and still are losing weight, I would put off the fill for a couple more weeks.

I have been debating the same thing.. but my issue is that I have restriction but feel like I am hungrier than I should be..

so I have been going back and forth about getting another fill or not.. because the scale is not moving.. its not going up.. but I am not losing either..

so my huge delimma is that I am going to be traveling for 3 weeks over the holidays and I just dont want to be overfilled and be in trouble.. but on the other hand I dont want to have gained weight over the holidays.. but today after talking to the docs office they recommend I wait till after i get back because they say that sometimes high altitudes can make your band tighten so they just dont want me to be in trouble.. they just said to kick up the walking.. (which wont be hard because we are going to europe and I am sure we will be walking everywhere)..

BUT with all that said.. if you are losing I would stay where you are.. my docs office said to call them when I dont lose 1-2 lbs a week. everyone is different so to lose that amount everyone will eat different amounts.. so losing is the key.. if you are still losing.. I would stay where you are until you plateau again.

I think you should see what your doctor says. He may say you need to wait a few months. If you feel ok and are not hungry all the time stick to what you have. In a

few more months you maybe ready for another fill.

I need a swift kick in the a** to get me started on the exercises again. Unless I start exercising, I don't think the scale is going to start moving. C'mon ladies, give me a well deserved kick in the a**.

Thanks to all that gave me some suggestions. I saw the dr today and we decided to leave it the way it is and I will see him again in jan. I have lost a total of 33lbs. This is great but I was a little jealous of the 18yr old girl that had surgery the same day and has lost 50lbs. My dr said she was yonger so it was a little easier for her. I mean come on I am only 32 i am not that old. geez LOL

I know I feel the same way, I wish it would come off faster. I'm in my late 30's and It's just harder. Keep up the good work. I took me 3o plus years to gain it all.

So be kind to your self. It will come off but it my take

a while.

I don't even have that excuse. The weather here in Houston is awesome! Since it's winter now, there's virtually no humidity and the temps are hovering between high 60s and 70s. I also have a wonderful treadmill at home as well. I just got out of the habit when I injured my knee but it's been better for 2 months and I've just got to get back into gear. When I was speed walking on it daily, I LOVED it and felt so good. It also helped me sleep much better. I know I'll love it once I get back in to the groove, it's the starting part that's hard.

I also had to get my butt in gear. Last night I walked 3 1/2 miles while watching DWTS at the gym. Now if only I would haul my big behind there every day, I would be doing good!:)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
