cherieinnv 3 Posted June 30, 2008 I am on clears this week and am already a little bored, so I started playing with my spices. I was told I can use any spices that dissolve. Yesterday, at lunch, I added a drop of soy sauce to my soy ginger broth (Trader Joe's) and tody I will add a dash of curry. Last night, I took my Rachel Ray's chicken broth and added about 1/8 tsp rubbed sage and about the same amount of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. It tasted a little like Thanksgiving to me. This morning, I added a dash of cinnimon to my chicken broth and it was good! Any other ideas?
heartfire 4 Posted June 30, 2008 No, but those sound good. I'll have to remember that. Oh, what about a little hot sauce?
Daisalana 33 Posted June 30, 2008 My favorite was the seasoning packets from Papa John's. DH loves pizza and always ordered it, so one day I was bored on liquids and poured a packet into my chicken broth. Makes it spicy and full of flavor, was great. It's little granules of flavor, so no chunks of anything. They don't give them to you just-so, you have to ask for them.. but they were free. So if someone in family orders pizza from there, have them get you some packets. Nom nom!

I have to say, I tok the broth package out of a thing of Top Ramen and added hot Water and a teaspoon of butter and it gave it a little more richness and was pretty doggone good. Also, another trick I use is curry powder in cottage cheese with a little sea salt OR cottage cheese and low sodium soy sauce. Yummy!!
