Hey Long! I'll be in Denver the end of this week (I land late Wednesday night through Saturday). Any idea what the weather is supposed to be like? I have no idea what to pack. I can check weather.com, but thought I'd check with you first. I'm staying at the Hyatt Regency...are you anywhere near that???

Hey Teach, well our weather changes rapidly. They are predicting 60's on Thurs. and snow on Friday. Thurs is the 'warm before the storm'. But I don't think they are predicting a lot of snow as they temp is still supposed to be in the 40's on Friday. Is the Hyatt downtown Denver? I'm not sure where the Hyatt is. I am up north and very near DIA (the airport). Will you have free time? I don't drive downtown, especially at night. Let me know your schedule and where you will be at, maybe we can arrange something. If not, enjoy our beautiful city.

Hey Junies.. So today I got called into the bosses office.. and was told that I was getting a $10,000 pay cut! He let 3 people go and the rest of us took pay cuts.. uggh.. So now I have to figure out how to make it up.. Anyone want to buy a kidney..lol.. He said that with these cuts we could have a larger profit sharing check and mine would hopefully be more than ten grand but there is no guarantee. I just wasn't prepared for this. I have two colleges to pay for! Ok that is the last of my complaining..

Hey Long! Unfortunately the only free time I have is at night. I'd have love to have caught up, but I completely understand not wanted to drive downtown. Thanks for the weather update. I don't have any kind of shoes for snow, so we'll hope there isn't much

Apples, I hope you stone has passed...I said a little prayer for ya last night

Addy, we can definitely talk Pampered Chef. Just PM me

Allie, I'm so sorry to hear about your pay cut. It's been one of those days. My dad lost his job today and I'm not really sure what my parent's are going to do. It was COMPLETELY out of the blue, which I think makes it that much harder. I'll say a little prayer that it all works out for you.

It was back to work today and I got up at 5:45 to work out. Man does Wii Fit really work you out. You don't realize it, but my calves are soooo sore. I'm thinking I might take tomorrow off to give them a chance to rest. Hope everyone had a good day!

ITeach...thanks for the prayer...it got rid of BOTH stones this morning. Over 40 hours laboring. Have fun in Denver. Meet with Long if you can swing. Wish I had the chance to meet ALL of you girls. Sorry to hear about your father's job. I LOVE Pampered Chef!

Alli...so sorry about the job pay cut. I hope that in the end there is not a difference in the $$ you make (with your profit sharing). My 25 yr old DS commercial pilot moved to Atlanta for a job a month ago and resigned from it over the weekend. Paycheck bounced? Pretty bad. He quit on Sat. and found another job on Sun. I was soooo worried. He is a flight instructor also and has high security clearance which helped him in finding this new job. He lucked out. The place where he resigned from made some pretty big promises to get him to move there and when he did, he had half the pay they baited him with. Nasty man! One thing my DS will do is stick up for himself. Thank God. Try to not stress about it all.

Hope everyone had a good day....mine was busy to the extreme....long story but don't think I will be in bed b/4 5am tomorrow morning. I just made a pot of coffee and I'm sure I will make more. A clue....men cannot write anything on the calender! DS told me tax appt was next Monday...not...it's early morning tomorrow!

Allie, sorry to hear of the pay cut, here's hoping that bonus more than makes up for it.

Teach, so are you staying downtown? Where's the hotel at?? I'm not familiar with the Hyatt Regency. Maybe it's not downtown???

Hello everyone,

Those of you talking about weather, well, it's crazy here in Arkansas as well. Yesterday, we were outside playing and today is freezing rain, you never know.

Allie, so sorry about the pay cut. When I decided to go back to teaching I took an $8,500. pay cut. And I signed up for it!! LOL!

Seriously, I had to make some changes in my life and I had prayed about so I knew that God would take care of us. We just cut back on going out so much and making wiser choices and we are fine.

Apples, glad your stones passed. My mom fought with those ugly things for years.

Good news...I called my doctors office this morning to make an appointment for a fill. She told me they could see me this afternoon. So my husband took off early and went with me (bad weather) and I got my 4th fill today. He put in another cc, I don't know what I am up too. I have not kept up with it. So anyway, I've just been sipping on broth and we will see how my eating changes in the meantime.

I am glad I made the decision to go ahead and go for a fill, thanks Allie :tongue2:

I did cancel my appointment with my personal trainer because of the freezing rain. I will meet with her Tuesday.

Hope everyone has a good night.

Sincerely,

Lucy

Addy,

So you got a fill today, Monday? This makes #4 for me. I always hate going in, but it is so worth it after it is over with.

I went to College in Conway and worked one summer at the Human Development Center and I loved it! I worked in the kitchen, goes along with my Home-ec degree, which it is not called Home-ec anymore, lol. But anyway, yes I loved that summer working there. I love special needs individuals, always have, always will. God Bless You.

Lucy

Awww Allie, I can so sympathize. I also got cut out of the blue. It was a 6,000 cut for me and that sure hurts. The economy is so bad anymore, seems like we hear stories about this every day. I sure hope things improve soon. Hope your profit sharing helps.

Hi all,

Wow, it has been a day for all of us, huh?? :/

apples, girl, I will be praying for you, my husband does that sort of stuff to me, makes me crazy.

Allie, so sorry to hear about the pay cut, God is good and you will have a great profit share, girls will get full scholarships! Just hang in there and have faith.

I was like Lucy, talking about getting use to less money. I was hurt in an accident (broke my back) at work 5 yrs ago, lost my job as RN. I never dreamed we could survive on my husbands money (he is self-employed logger, which means poor :tongue2:, but GOD is merciful, and we have done just fine. Took some getting use to on my part, and cutting back, but fine. I am currently going to school to try and get my BSN, and work with my mind, LOL!! not my body.

Lucy, I think anyone who works with those kids is a great person. It takes special people to do that. Angela is 30, (ahh) now, and has been living there since she was 17, she loves it. I wish she was closer, but it is the best one for her needs. We call it school, you know Conway is a college town,

You are right, it is freezing here today!! I know all you notherners are probably laughing at us southern girls with a little freezing rain.

I did have my 5th fill today, was disappointed I had only lost 1lb since last one, but I was thrilled I didn't gain. It hurt so bad, the Nurse P. did it not the docs. I told her doc said use the long needle but she had to try the short one, I cried!!!!!!!! Docs don't hurt, she didn't either last time when she used the LONG needle.

Have faith all you Junies we will perserve and make it through.

I found a great site ya'll might have heard of Bariatriceating.com it has good recipes, encouragement, etc...

God Bless all,

addy

Long, congrats on the weight loss. Wish I could lose as good as you do!

Allie, sorry about the pay cut, if you remember we had to take a 10% cut in pay too, I keep telling myself "at lest I still have a job!" It helps a little....

Oh, and I have a date tonight! A guy from the past called yesterday out of the blue and will be in my area and is going to take me to dinner! Hope I don't PB! or worse yet, get stuck! LOL

That is too funny...please don't PB on your date. I would crawl under the table. My husband has seen me do it, but that is it. I had to PB in a cup a couple of time while we were driving down the road. And once as I was getting up from dinner table and barly made it the trash can. True love.

Well, good luck on the date, that is exciting.

Woohoo! A date! Definetly don't pb on the poor guy. My problem would be the noises I make when I eat. Sounds like I have some kind of monster in my esophogus and the burps, well, they're just the cats meow! LOL

Anyway, have a great time and enjoy yourself

Hey Kids...Hope everyone had a good day. Analysis day for us (our farm management guy does an analysis for us on our farm and business books). Just stressful till it is over. I am one of those people that "need" to balance to the penny in every account. I did, so I consider it all good.

Hey you Southern Ladies.. what you tolerate as far as the weather is concerned is all what you are used to. Your cold most likely feels as cold to you as our freezing does to us. Hang in there. The older I get the less tolerant I am of our winters. Heading south for a little over a month and will enjoy every minute of it!

Got my UPS shipment today from Amazon. I never thought $4 capris could be sooooooooooooo cute. Had a style show for DH tonight. And, what's great is that I have tops to match all 8 pair that I bought. There are some great jean capris that I got for that price also. And, four of the pairs came with cute beaded belts (think those capris were $8). Anyway, I should be all set for the trip. All packed and ready to go. Just have to make sure my large case is not over 50lbs. I'm sooooooo excited to order things on the internet and just slip them on.

Everyone have a great evening. Going to go sit in the recliner and snuggle with DH and do my daily LA Times and NY Times crosswords. I know that b/4 long well will have the 100lbs black lab on top of us!

Hey Long! It is downtown. I checked today  I'm looking forward to it. I land tomorrow night at 11:29. I'm pretty much packed and ready to go. Now I just have to work tomorrow  Have a great evening everyone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
