Bec 0 Posted June 30, 2008 Hi, My name is Bec and as the title says I am from Western Australia. I am getting banded in May of 2009 as I have to have private health for 12 months before I can have the surgery. I currently weigh around the 130kg mark and have battled with my weight my whole life. My Mum and my sister in law have both had it done. Mum has had wonderful success - she has lost nearlly 25kg - but my SIL has not had a good time and after two years has had it removed. Crazy4MyK9 0 Posted June 30, 2008 Hi Bec, Welcome! Are you new to LapBandTalk? I find the site very helpful. I can't imagine having to wait for a 12-month period. Once I had my mind made up, I just wanted to get it done. What do you plan to do, if anything, between now and surgery to prepare yourself for life with the Lap Band? Are you making any changes?
