I am in the exact same boat as you. I haven't lost any more weight since my initial liquid diet weight loss, and I to had restriction for the first few days after my first fill and then nothing more. I am going in again for another fill on Wednesday. From what has been told to me by my Doctors and other members of this site, is that it takes a while for things to get how they should be. It's a slow arduous process. We just have to be patient and stick with all the guidelines as best we can. It will happen eventually. We just need to rise above these hard learning times. It sucks. Especially when everyone is watching you like a hawk thinking that this is going to be like a RnY, and your gonna loose buckets of weight fast. It's just not that way with the band.

I was in the same boat. I had my surgery on March 10. Waited 6 weeks for my first fill of 3 cc. The first few days I felt restriction but then noting. I became very frustrated but I had to remember this is only a tool! I started walking at least 3-4 time per week and tried to watch what I ate. This helped keep me focused even though the weight was not coming off I was making good choices and starting good habits. When I went back for my 2nd fill, I had lost 8 lbs. even though no restriction. My second fill was only 1.5 cc and it has really made a hugh difference. So, my advice, don't get discouraged. It will take some time to find your "right" fill amount. Keep up your part with good choices and good habits and it will pay off. Best wishes!

I hate to say it, but you have to use the band as a tool to weight loss. It won't change the requirement for really scrutinizing EVERYTHING you put in your mouth and the amount of physical activity you need to lose weight. You have to work hard to have the band work for you. DO NOT rely on the band to restrict your food for you. It is a tool to help with the hunger, not to be your food police.

With that said, it took me upwards of 3 months to really start noticing weight loss. I workout nearly every day, for 45 minutes at a time. If you have seen any of my old posts, you'd see I had the same frustrations. Keep with it. The band will work, but it won't happen overnight. My biggest concern initially was that if I didn't lose the weight in the beginning, I wouldn't lose it at all. This isn't like the GB. You will lose weight, and it will be gradual. If you were to chart weight loss of most patients, you'd find that it takes upwards of 3-4 fills before most people find the adequate amount. That's not for everyone, though. Do your best to move every day. Even small amounts of exercise for someone who has previously been sedentary will make a dramatic difference. 15-20 minutes is a good start. Know that this won't happen overnight. I've just hit the 50 pound mark at 6 months....I lost far faster with Weight Watchers 6 years ago, but that clearly didn't stay off for long enough!

Best advice:

1) Measure--your food, Water, and exercise daily. Keep a journal. It will help you figure out what worked, didn't work, and will help you track your successes and frustrations!

2) Stay active on this website. Know that you have an entire community of people who have been where you are now. They will be your greatest support when you need it.

3) Communicate with your doctor. I found him to be tremendously supportive when I least expected it.

4) Attend support group meetings if offered.

Good luck! Don't give up on yourself. You've gone through a lot of work to get this far. You didn't gain the weight overnight, and you won't lose it that way, either. Be well. :)

What are u eating?

What kind of excersing routine do u have?

how much Water are u drinking?

How many calories are u eating per day?

If you have and or keeping track of your excercise and food intake and u are not eating thing u know u shouldn't be eating u should be loosing weight.. by just having the band isnt going to just make the weight fly off...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
