I had an total abdomenal hysterectomy six years ago, and found Hyster Sisters to be very helpful. You may be able to have a laproscopic hyst, if that's what you're asking about. Recovery time is quicker for women who have vaginal hysterectomies, and I think for those who have them laproscopically as well. I also had fibroids

Good luck..

I had total hysterectomy for fibroids about 15 years ago, I have learned over the years that fibroids usually shrink on their on as you get older and stop producing as much estrogen. I have a friend who was told she needed a hysterectomy. I told her to check out some alternative treatments first and she ended up using a prescription progesterone cream which helped shrink her fibroid tumors and didn't need surgery. Hystersisters and Familypharmacy.net have tons of information. Sorry to be so blunt, but I wish I knew all of this before my hysterectomy. Your uterus has a lot of nerves in it and without it your sex life will be different. I have been using a compounded estrogen/progesterone/testosterone gel for about three years now and feel a lot better now.

No thank you.

That's probably the only organ in this body of mine that functions/ed satisfactorily.

Closed up shop here about 2-3 years ago after producing 3 exceptionally healthy and beautiful children.

But -

Before anyone gets the snip-snip, there are studies on how LBS has eradicated poly-cystic ovarian disease.

I want to look into this a bit closer in several years as my daughter has "dreadful" poly-cystic ovaries (and she's a size 2 - so obviously isn't a LBS candidate ). But hopefully more research will be done about how this reversal of cyst formations actually happens.

Here's a video of one woman's experience with LBS and pregnancy -

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
