hallfamilyx2 0 Posted June 28, 2008 Hello, I came across this site when doing research on the lap-band. I go for my consultation on the 10th of July and I am very excited. I had a stroke in March of 2007 and 8 months and lotssssssssssss of lbs later, my neurologist sends me for a sleep study. I have sleep apnea. They feel that this is what caused my stroke. Apparently I have had this my entire life and did not even realize it. I was one of those who thought only heavy people had sleep apnea..................little did I know - Lots have I learned! The only thing that worries me is that I still suffer from dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) - The things I should do, from what I have read, is that you have to chew up your food well, slow down and take small bites. This is what I should be doing with my current condition anyway. Any advice for me? I am open to hearing all pros, cons, advice and suggestions. Thanks!
