renewed - I think your body is saying, 'What the heck?'

I'm inspired by your ambition - good to get in 20 minutes! I think the DVD and then run wore you out. Rest girl! Rest! Do you run on Saturday or Sunday?

I run every other day. I do my Jillian videos on M,T, TH, F, Sat. I should probably alternate my running with the videos, but I really want to do both. My body is just starting to feel tired. It's weird. I am not really sore as much as I just feel fatigued. Maybe I need to up my calories more??? I take in between 1000 and 1100 calories a day.

Renewed, give it a rest!!! Then on your next run day, do the run first and follow up with your DVD, that way you can finish your run and not obsess until you achieve it. If you find yourself obsessing tonight... run it tomorrow! I think you've probably progressed to the point where if you want to run everyday, you could. Ohhh you are driven!!!

Do you use dailyplate or something like that to log your intake and outtake? Don't you have a bodybugg? Have you worn it (envious and want one so bad - sorry got off topic there) since you've added the DVD and running. You may be right. You're probably burning excess calories and your body is fatigued. You may be in starvation mode and need to up your calories. Vitamins? I'm not sure - just a theory.

Renewed, I agree with Kathy. I say do the run first or space your video and run out more. Your body may just need a little break to catch up. Get you some rest girl and slow down some. A day's rest may be all you need to revive yourself. Take care!!

kathy, I am very driven. It is a blessing and a curse. Sometimes I don't know when to quit, or I do and I choose not to.

I take 4 gummy vitamins daily. I do have a bodybugg and I love it!! I log my food on it. Before I started running I averaged 800 - 900 calories a day. I am now taking in 1000 - 1100 calories a day. I know I just really need to give it a rest, but I haven't repeated a day yet, and I soooo don't want to. Oh dear.....

renewed you are addicted! Have you transferred food addiction to exercise addiction? I know I have! I have a little issue with shopping now...Oh how I love shoes!

I'm heading out in 10 minutes - getting off work! Woot! Going to the gym for my run. I'm looking forward to it!! Weekends are a bit nutz for me, but I'll check in with ya'll.

Renewed--I am so much like you when it comes to being totally driven. When I get something in my mind, I go at it full force. Just be careful not to burn yourself out on everything. I have done that too many times to count and right now I am obsessed with doing Wii Fit and feel like I have to do it ATLEAST 30 minutes everyday (most days i do it an hour), but I LOVE doing it and I think that is the difference between this time and all past times of exercising. I am also loving the running I have been doing. I love that its different each week (or day depending on what week you are on!) and I am working towards a goal, when all other times I have done programs or videos it felt so repetitive, same videos (even tho i own tons of them), Curves got boring going around in that little circle everyday. I know when I am running I have something I want to accomplish and that is running a 5k, and then I will set new goals. I don't feel like "here I am on this treadmill again, going the same pace day after day for the rest of my life" ---boring!

I guess if I must have an addiction, exercise would not be a horrible one, but you are probably right. I am 20 pounds from having a tt and thigh lift. I saw my doctor and have a plan in place. It is so hard not to push as hard as I can. Bonnie, I can relate to what you are saying. I have burned myself out more times than I can count, but this feels different. I am so driven to get there. It's like this goal I have wanted to reach for most of my adult life is in my sights. I want to get there yesterday. Well, I didn't put this weight on that quick. I need to chill, but I am having a hard time doing that. I AM NOT RUNNING AGAIN TONIGHT!! I will probably repeat today's run tommorow as Kathy suggested. It is not a Jillian day so I would only be running. I also seem to be able to run better early evening, so I thnk I will do Jillian in the morning and run in the evenings. I pm'd whosya and he says my calories are low. I will work on increasing calories as well. If I end of running tonight, then yall have my permission to give me a REALLY hard time!! I really love being able to talk about this to people who really understand. You guys are the best!!

1. I did week 4 day one by mistake (I was suppose to be on week 3) about half way through it I thought "boy this seems harder today", I started thinking as i was about to call 911! shoot I am suppose to be on week 3!!! The amazing thing is, I was doing fine until I realized that I was on the wrong week - then I finished it by staying at 3.7 mph and a 5% incline. I guess that is ok, but isn't it funny that our body can do more if our mind would shut up.

2. I did NOT weigh myself today! You are all very influencial people. I miss it, but it is always good to challenge our weaknesses.

3. You may not remember this, but about 4-6 weeks ago, I had a problem with my inner theighs rubbing together when I run. Guess whose legs don't touch any more. Now that is success - right there.

Renewedhope and Bonnie - 20 minutes really! Holy cow; I want to do that sooooo much.

Congratulations Lynn! Both on your run and the thigh NSV. That rocks!

As for me - tonight sucked!!! I stepped in gum at some point. I went to put my tennis shoes on - GUM! I warmed up and started my run - I got about half way through and my shoe was loose (Automatically thought of Bonnie). I stopped to tie it - my darned shoe string broke! There went my run! Then I changed back into my work clothes and thought I'd be productive and go to the grocery story (we have zero food in the house). Put on my flip-flops - it (one of the flip-flops) broke. Today wasn't meant to be. There was no way I was going to Wal-mart wearing heels...no way.

I'm going to run tomorrow though - after I go shoe shopping. Must be divine intervention! I guess I can count tonight as 1/2 a run.

Leslie - I am so sorry your shoe fairy was on break today. Isn't it frustrating when you go to the effort to getting to the gym and then it doesn't pan out. You will kick it tomorrow>. Take some extra shoe strings.

Leslie, Sounds like a good excuse to get some new shoes. Sorry your run didn't go as planned.

Lyn, You know, I was thinking today how hard it is to know if I didn't complete my run because my body couldn't or if I decided that in my mind. Our minds are soooo powerful.

Lynn... what a great NSV moment! I can't wait until my thighs no longer rub. I imagine its a long way off.

Leslie... ain't karma a bit#H. Guess you got to go get those shoes! BTW, I know you were asking about shoes... go to a running store that sells shoes. They will fit you properly. Don't buy just based on brand or what we wear... have them fit you for your gait. Everyone walks and runs differently and different brands or shoes help compensate for different gaits. A good store will ask you to remove your shoes and will watch you walk. They will then get you fitted for the right type of shoe. Expect to pay a bit for them, but they should last you for awhile, and will save you from impact injury.

Bonnie,

I'm preband too -- hopefully will have surgery in October. Congrats on the 20 minute run! I'm starting wk 5 tomorrow - so we'll see how I do at the end of the week on the 20 minute!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
