My sister has her Wii exercise game. I liked it ok, but I really prefer her videos. They are hard, but I feel like I get more of a workout!

Thanks. The cardio kickboxing one sounds like something I would like. I'll look into it.

Georgia...I ran for us today so REST! only a messley 3 miles (did i really say that LOL)

Then did my spin class

Good deal! My body is feeling pretty tired today, but I was debating on whether or not to run. I think I will rest today. Glad you had a good b-day!

I get this too when ive been over running. Just taking a day or two off, cures it!

Its VERY important to rest. When your hurting like this you tend to change your stride or the way you stand without even noticing you are, and it can lead to INJURY because your not in good form!!! So rest is a MUST.

Thanks Whosya... I can see what you mean about changing my stride... I did notice how I was compensating - not good!

Renewed... which is your favourite, or do you just rotate them? Do you need any special equipement for these? I was thinking of getting something like this for strength training to motivate me.

Have you ever just had "one of those days"! I went to lunch with a few friends today, and just after sitting down, I dumped my coffee cup all over myself! No burn, just major embarrassment and a mess! It actually dumped into my purse too! Yuck! Then as I got back to the office to get my computer and head home (work the rest of the day at home), someone came off the elevator and bumped into me and spilled their tea all over me! Now my coat is a mess too! I feel like a target! LOL. So I drove home smelling a lot like a diner!

Sorry you are having a rough day. Sounds like you need to go home and cuddle under an warm blanket.

I bought the 5 dvd's as a set. I rotate them. They are very challenging. You need a light set of dumbells and a step to do the exercises. I really like it. They are really good.

Hi all,

I'm tapering like whosya suggested i do. I only did a 2.4 mile speed walk and only did 3 sprints this morning. Still sick too, so i didnt want to push it too much. But i couldnt sleep since my decongestant kept me up. I was up at 5:30 am for no freakin reason, so i decided to get out and exercise and be productive while i had a chance. I'm almost never up that early. Tried it for a while, but i'm usually on the chat here till late. UGH. So I dont get enough sleep on a good nite. I think i had 3-4 hours last nite. :cursing: I will be healthy enough to race on Saturday, I will be healthy enough to race on Saturday. Maybe if i tell myself that over and over, it'll really happen.

Wow sounds like y'all are off to a great start with this challenge of yours.

take care and ttys,

Carol

I'm still on Week 8. Ran 28 min. as instructed and then walked 5 and since I still had time and hadn't finished the 5k, I ran another 7 min. Only one more run this week and then on to Week 9. Woot! Woot!

Good job MacMadame!!!!! Your nearly graduated.

For anyone new there is a deal on active.com 50% off the training plan for C25k. Normally 19.95.

Now you DONT need to pay for a training plan. But if you like all the extra tools and stuff its on there.

WTG MacMadame!! Great job!!

Hello C25K buddies!! I took yesterday off (I soooo needed that, lol) and I felt refreshed this morning. I went to the gym and I ran 4 miles straight!! That is the longest straight run I've ever done!! Then I ended up walking/running one more mile. I won't be able to do that everyday, but it was nice to push myself and know that it's possible.

Have a great day everyone!

Whosya, How do you keep from getting burned out!! I am so tired of this roller coaster I choose to be on. I will run 50 miles in 2 weeks and then nothing for the next 2. I go so much I just crash. Right now running is the last thing I want to do. I LOVE TO RUN!! However, when I push too hard I begin despising it. How do you push yourself without pushing to the point of burn out!! I am impressed with you consistancy. This is something I REALLY want to work on. I want to love running not dread it!

Renewed...all things in moderation. I made up a new mantra for myself. maybe it'll help u. it goes: "improvement is better than perfection." if your body is dreading the run look inside, maybe theres a reason for the sense of dread. just like with head hunger, maybe theres head based resistance to exercise. start there and see if u come up with anything. hope this helps.

Renewed...I used to be the same way. It HAD to be all or nothing. For me, I had to deal with my need to be perfect. I always felt like if I ate one little thing that was bad, I had ruined everything, so I would just quit dieting and exercising all together. I guess it was the perfectionist in me (I get it from my mom, lol). It was a mental game for me. It has gradually gotten better, but it's something I battle with all the time.

I think you are on the right track by giving yourself a schedule and sticking to it. Just be sure you're not over doing it, so you don't get overwhelmed. If you find that your new schedule is too much, adjust it from week to week until it's right. You have done soooooo well! You are so close to goal and you look absolutely FABULOUS!!!

I have a schedule. I run on Monday, Wed. and Fri. I do bike or pilates on Tues and Thurs. On either Sat. or Sun. I bike outdoors.

With a schedule, you aren't tempted to run every day for two weeks. Plus cross-training is good for you.

Next month I will mix up my schedule because I'm joining a tri club and taking advantage of some of their coached sessions which are on a set schedule. But that's my schedule for now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
