Banded June 25, 2008

Recommended Posts

Hi, My name is Becky and I am from San Antonio, Texas. I am married and have 3 kids (15 yr. old daughter and 7 and 4 yr. old sons). I have 3 weimaraners and 3 cats so we have a full house! I just had surgery on Wed. June 25th at Foundation Bariatric Hosp. through Weight Wise. Dr. J.J. Gonzales did the surgery. I am doing good...just sore and REALLY tired of chicken broth. Looking forward to losing weight though.

hey, becky

i'm anne and am from boerne. dr gonzalez did my procedure also (feb 08). welcome to the club.

don't forget there are other kinds of broth--beef broth is much better, and alternating makes everything more palatable.

good luck on your journey!

Hey Becky, I'm Jeanette. I live in Lytle and I had my surgery with Dr. Carcamo at True Results in San Antonio on the 25th. I am sore, but the gas is bothering the most. I can't wait for that to go away. Congratulations on your surgery and good luck on your weight loss journey.

You are just two days out from surgery!!! That is such an exciting time but also a yucky time. Exciting because you have begun your journey. Yucky because you are healing and dealing with all those liquids.

Hang in there it will get better. Experiment with different types of broth and liquids. Find something that will work for you. And just know the reason you did this. You will manage because it sounds like you have a big support system.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
